Way too late. The 3rd week in April is when we start, and its already too late. Birds have been rounding up hens for over a month at that point.

Make sure your team doesn't hunt any woods bigger than a couple of acres, or I seriously doubt they will find their way out by the time the contest ends.

That's why I'm hoping to get some time to go next door? To Ohio that is, I'm only about 15min. from the border, just need a little time and some extra cash for the N.R. licensce. Only downfall the times I do go, it will be on Public, but still will be nice to get out earlier than if I waited for ours?

Not sure why our State waits so late? And to even make things tougher, it's only hunting till noon here. I know in years past it's very difficult even hearing a bird on the roost first thing in the morning the last week or so of our season? We catch the tail end of it where the first 2 weeks of the season are so so, then it just progressivlely gets worse. Have seen years where the last week or so they are back in their bachelor groups and not even that intrested.
