Okay wow what a team
I see two other turkeyhunters I know!

I'll start - we do need a captain - not me as I will be way to busy scoring.

But am hunting TN. MI, WI (whole dang month of May)
Looking to get to KS and MT this yr is I can

JW\\Ps I suggest a Team name of "Turkey Thugs" ;D

tschaef 03-02-2011 03:34 AM

tschaef checking in.

I'll be hunting Ontario, so mine won't start for a while. Last year didn't work out so well, but the year before I was on the champion team and contributed a big double beard.
Glad to be here.

turkman1 03-02-2011 07:21 AM

Turkman1 Checking in.

I'll be hunt IL, Neb, Tx, Ind At the end of March.I was on the champion team 2010 Fall. I shot a 12 1\8 beard.I hope I get six big turkeys with a bow.LOL
Good luck Team

JW 03-02-2011 11:24 AM

Well we got 30% checked in - I live in t e city of Hootnscoot, actually worked with him at one time, and will pester him to check in. He is kinda busy with a baby coming soon!

Know mookyj from other contests as well as a few other names here I recognize.

We do need a team Captain by March 10
We do need a team name soon too and I did suggest Team Trukey Thugs!

Any other ideas?

JW
Ps - I can get everyone's e-mail (nice thing about being a Mod) and I did send an e-mail to everyone to get them on board. AND we more than likely will pick up one of not two new team mates.

turkman1 03-03-2011 07:47 AM

Turkman

I am insterested in being the team Captain.Could you let me know what that involves?

I would suggest The Strutters or Trukey Thugs sound good to me.

My E-Mail is Turkbowhunter @yahoo.com

JW 03-03-2011 11:27 AM

Well you post scores and you send out the contest stickers as we try to get all involved to help with costs.

You are the main contact between the team and the comittee.

JW

JW 03-03-2011 07:27 PM

wow and I sent an e-mail to all a day or so ago!

We will give em a few more and i will send one more e-mail

Hey JW!, might as well call y'alls' team, team slugs! dog1

jondoe 03-04-2011 06:02 AM

Checking in guys. I missed being part of the action last year and what a shame it was. Tagged out in here in KY with my longest bearded bird ever and my first ever double beard bird after hunting a mere 2-1/2 total hours. I am hoping I can be a contributing factor this year.

JW 03-04-2011 06:16 AM

Hey gang disregard dog1 he is a grumpy ole man I met doing this contest many yrs ago!

Hunting with him is fun tho - he has a nice camoflaged walker!

AND

Welcome jondoe!
JW

Sounds good to me.

Turkman

hootnscoot 03-07-2011 05:01 AM

I'm here!

Hey ya'll,

Sorry for being tardy! Yes, JW is correct. My wife gave birth to our second son this Friday! Wyatt Archer was 8 pounds 14 ounces! Another future turkey hunter is born:barmy:

Anyways, mom and baby are fine and turkey season is coming.

I'll be hunting WI, IN and OH and perhaps California if things work out.

I'll probably be scarce for the next couple of weeks but will check in once the season draws closer.

I love the name of turkey thugs! Sounds great to me, lets kick some butt this year!

tschaef 03-07-2011 06:42 AM

Well, good.
It looks like the team is coming together!
I hate the whole arguing over names and captains and avatars thing in these contests so don't wait around for my vote!
But I do wanna see some chatter about scouting, maybe some pics, and can't wait to start seeing pics of dead birds to get me pumped up for my late season!
Cheers all.

JW 03-07-2011 07:07 AM

We can leave the name Team 3 too and that works for me........all I want to see is each hunter check in.

Need nothing further than that........then go hunt....and if successful or not....share stories.........

This team event has been a nice source of me meeting other fellow turkey hunters.......

JW

tschaef 03-09-2011 02:50 AM

JW! Where you the one that used to make wingbone calls for the members?
I seem think it was you, I still can't get any noise outta mine, but its awfull purty and makes a good conversation piece.

JW 03-09-2011 04:11 AM

Yep was me - I made over a 1,000 easy and then the Hobby became a job and I quit.

link for you.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3564/...8309b61e_z.jpg

You need to find the sweet spot on your lips ~ Say did I make that call? My early calls I made do not compare to later yrs. I learned as I made!

One thing you can try is sand the mouth piece a bit. Make sure it has a square end. If that does not do it - then glue (epoxy) the end of the moutpiece shut and redrill with a 1/8" bit. I glue all I made at the end as to me it was just far easier to make them work.

I used this call to get 2 birds to respond last yr. I like wingbones on windy days too.

JW

jondoe 03-09-2011 06:00 AM

I am not picky over team name or avatar. Whatever the majority wants is perfectly fine with me. All I want is for the 16th of April to get here so the KY season can get underway. I cannot wait to get out and start hunting!!!

JW 03-09-2011 07:21 AM

Hey what Part of KY?

I might pass by you on my way to TN as I going to Nashville then going south east of Pulaski, TN.

One route does take through a bit of KY ~ if close maybe stop and I buy coffee!

JW

turkeyfeather 03-09-2011 10:21 AM

tschaef 03-13-2011 09:48 AM

guys, has anyone tried to e-mail simon?
He's our only no show, but he's also a huge turkey hunter that's part of a hunting video franchise! I'd bet we'd be better off with him than an alternate!
Lets try to get him on board! I'll try to contact him if its not stepping on our captains toes.

tschaef 03-13-2011 10:01 AM

Guys, I just realized that we still don't have a captain.

JW! is too busy, and while I love playing around here I will be gone for most of April with no access (don't worry, my season isn't till May).

turkman has offered, all I care is that Captain has the time and checks in often. Any objection to turkman? We need a captain!

JW 03-13-2011 01:37 PM

I Agree! Turkman I owe you a call - have CRS and forgot to do that.

Sign in on the Captain thread and annouce to the contest committee you be it!

Guess first order of business is for everyone to send their mailing address to Turkman as I do have contest stickers.
We, the Comittee have asked that Captains handle getting Free contest stickers to all that are interested. Sometimes the Captain just mails them out and pays for postage and sometimes the Captain asks for Self Addressed Stamped Envelopes. That Turkman is your call.

But I will call you!

Dave.........JW

turkman1 03-13-2011 05:49 PM

Captain for Team 3 - Turkman [email protected]
Please send me your mailing address. You do not need to supply self-address stamped envelopes. Just e-mail me your mailing addresses. Thanks!
Bernie (turkman)

Turkman - Captain
Please contact Simon. You definitely will not be stepping on my toes.

jondoe 03-14-2011 05:53 AM

JW!, I live about 30 miles northwest of Bowling Green out in the middle of nowhere, but I would not have it any other way. Get in contact with me when you venture this way and we will try to get together.

JW 03-14-2011 07:56 AM

Hey cool! If I take the I65 route I go threw or past Bowling Green. I will send you a PM if I do.

Hey EL CaptainO! Thanks and I sent 2 e-mails and a PM at Siman/OH to no avail. I have asked that he be replaced.
