Well, my buddy can't go out tomorrow morning.... so I guess I will by myself. I have a tag left anyways, but wanted to get him one before getting myself a second one. Weather isn't supposed to be the greatest, but I'm going to try to take advantage of the situation and see if I can't come home with bird #2. No promises though and I surely can't promise an upgrade. The birds on this farm have typically been fairly heavy, but only average beard and spurs.

Do any of yall know where a good place "cheap" in Kansas might be. There season doesn't end till the end of the month and I might be able to head up that way if things go as planned.

Sorry guys, been really busy. I was going to try and slip out tomorrow morning but it doesn't look like its going to end up that way. So with Mothers day, I don't know if I'll get out this weekend or not. I still have time, just seems to get a little tougher as the season goes on.

Pretty quiet on all the other teams lately, a big fat upgrade would really help things out!!!! I'd love to help but have shifted gears now, do you think a 5 lb walleye would score very high???!!!

Well, I wish I had an upgrade to submit, but I don't. As I mentioned before, since shooting my bird, my main goal was to get my buddy a bird....and we got that done this morning. This bird put on more of a show in the roost than on the ground. We could see him locked in full strut about 300 yards on the roost and gobbled plenty. Some soft yelps later and he was pitching down right towards us. Landed about 35 yards behind us with some hens. He didn't gobble once on the ground. He milled around for about 15 minutes before we were able to get turned around and find an opening at 45 yards. I don't think he would have been an upgrade anyways. He weighed in at 21.1 lbs, 10.25" beard, and .75" spurs. Definatily a memorable hunt. Here is a pic.

Well, I'm finished. Would like to have put one down in the 60's or better, but 3 Toms is still a good year.

Well, we are 7.185 behind with only Zubba hunting? If I had any land worth a crap to hunt I'd try to work in another day. However, there is a lot of hunting days left, so who knows what the final score will end up. :confused0024:
