Default 7mm Rem Mag or 300 Win Mag ?

Ok,i want a MAGNUM rifle for some odd reason, should i get a 7mm rem mag or a 300 win mag? I've narrowed it to either a Browning X-Bolt or a Browning BAR Safari. This rifle is mainly so i can say i have a MAGNUMMMMMM lol but which would be better a semi auto or bolt action in 7mm rem mag or 300 win mag? I figured the semi auto so it'll have slightly less recoil but i like the accuracy of a bolt action. Thanks in advance.

If you just want it so you can say you have a magnum then go for the 7mm. It'll have about 20-25% less recoil than a 300 mag. What are you going to be hunting and at what yardages? I'd pick the X-bolt in a heartbeat over the BAR but the BAR is the best of it's class (centerfire semiauto rifles).

I have both and like both, it would be a hard choice for me to make between the two of them. I have never hunted any animal larger than deer, so I dont need a magnum, I just like rifles. As for the action its a bolt hands down for me.

BAR in 300 winmag. The browning is as accurate as most boltactions plus it takes some recoil away get it with a boss and it's like shooting a 243 no joke. I like the 300 better than the 7mm mag because if your gonna have a magnum go ahead and getta real magnum now I'm not puttin the 7 down it's a great round and I've killed deer with it but it's like a middle child it's either too big or too small and if you gotta 270 or 30-06 you ain't gaining much with it but the 300 will tackel any game in the USA.

How accurate is the BAR in 300 Win Mag out to 300 yards?

I'd rather have a bolt action, and I'd rather have a 7. But if it's a simple hunting rifle, I could easily deal with a 300.
