You have your own site yet, you spend a great deal of time on every muzzleloader board (under different handles) pumping and pimping your sponsors while trying to cast a cloud over other brands.
I've never witnessed such enduring buffoonery.

The one thing that changed was his Sabot. From what I understand is that the BH-209 needs a tight seal to light off similiar to smokeless powder. The Orange MMP is a very thin diameter sabot. When using it it my savage with a .458 diameter bullet I had the same exact scenario as described in cold weather conditions, primer went off, powder did not. Shot fine in warmer weather no problem. Switched to a Harvester Black Crushed rib sabot and never had an issue again. I would suggest switching back to the MMP Black sabot. Just my two cents.

I actually did all that testing and have proven to myself that a loose sabot bullet fit with BH209 does not create mis-fires. But just like you, i have had that scenario with the savage.

Ive gotten Knight EZ blue sabots and MMP 3P EZs to ignite BH209 very well down into the 30s in my Extreme 50/Elite 45 (with conicals) but my primer has a near perfect seal in the Lehigh breach plug.
While im sure it can happen with a loose sabot, ive also tested it with loose conicals and mild primers without a single hangfire. Granted none have been in extreme temps.
IMO proper breach plug designs and primer fit cut way down on the issues.

If the plug is clean... the flash channel specifically - the problem is not in the plug.
Could be head space, bad primers, contaminated powder, or something causing the loss of pressure, projectile and or sabot.... there are lots of combinations - but I really doubt that it is the just the breech plug...
I think i would need to know more addtiona information but if the BP is really clean - it will work well with BH...

You guys quit bickering. I for one am glad it was posted on this forum as it is the only ML forum I follow. I learned something new from this post. I think some people need to try and get a positive attitude. Hell, I read all the posts. Sometimes I learn something, somtimes I don't. Sometimes I have information to share, sometimes I don't.
