RE: opinions on best way to dispatch turkey
Boot to the head kinda works as long as the ground isnt too soft otherwise you'll give them a headache. I havent heard of this but I think it makes sense, that you should obviously watch out for the broadhead as it may be lodged in the feathers or somthing and you dont want to end up cutting yourself as the birds tend to do alot of flopping around when you dispatch them. That being said my best way is to get a hold of its head and ring its neck hard and fast and make sure it breaks then drop it before you get a licking. Or could you bring a hatchet in a sheath with you? I havent tried this but I would imagine it would work.
