Open sight Ruger 77/50
I took the scope off my Ruger 77/50 because I wanted to sight it in with open sights for a future hunt where I anticipate shots at 100yrds or less. At the same time, I was testing the 50 cal. Powerbelt 245 grn Aerotips to see how they would perform from my gun. Ninety-five grains of Pyrodex RS put my bullets smack on.
Well, I'm thrilled to say that after some minor sight adjustments, I was printing bullet holes that cut bullet holes! Some of you may know that I'm a traditional muzzleloading afficionado and that I don't hanker much to inlines, except this one and that's because it reminds me of the blackpowder cartridge carbines of yonder day, but with shot placement like that, I may have to start dragging the ole Ruger out more often!
