I contacted the wildlife biologist for my area and asked why we didn't have a Winter season in my county (The next county over, does). What we're up against, here, is........ourselves. The data they use to determine if the pops are able to sustain a Winter season....is (and I'm not kidding) .....harvest reports. So....if not too many birds are taken in my county.....it HURTS us as far as having a Winter season.
Logic? It seems we're not killing enough turkeys to be able to kill more tukeys.

. I'll gladly come and help increase your harvest numbers.
As for shooting a jake, personally I haven't done it but if I get the chance with my recurve next weekend... you better believe I will!!!
