Rob is up with Rick James tonight and tomorrow. I be either solo or running a camera for my brother. Probably the latter. Either way it's time in the woods. I am not worried. Rob and I will get on a few, the season is long.

Got a few weeks left. Damn near this morning. Saw them fly down 85 yards left of us and just down the hill a bit. Then they shut up. No dice as we had to be at work at8am. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Get em boys.

I finally got out this morning. Of course, conditions were less than ideal. The birds were very quiet with all the wind. My brother and I had to hold the blind down during the gusts that came every few minutes. We did see a nice bird but he was with 5 hens. Never got closer than 70 yards. We made a move on foot to cut them off in the next woodlot and almost had a chance. If they stayed along the field I probably would have had a shot. One of the hens broke off from the group and entered the thin strip of woods I was in. Once she passed the tree I was hiding behind at less than 10 yards, she spooked and the game was over. If she stayed in the field I probably would have had a 15 yardshot at the big boy. Still a fun morning as I have never gotten that close to a group of turkeys on foot with a bow.
