snowing as we speak, here in western Iowa. weather man out of Omaha Nebraska is calling for a couple inches or more by midnight. another couple inches on Monday, says we could have 4-6 by Tuesday, with the winds picking up.
got my tags for the second gun season today, one statewide any sex tag and three antlerless tags for Harrison county.

It was 27 degrees yesterday morning and I was in a ladder stand. I took a neighbor to the club with me as a guest. He used to hunt in Pennsylvania years ago, but hasn't hunted in a long time. I kept him out all day and while neither of us got a deer, he said he had fun.

Well Guys I scored on a ok 8 pt not my biggest buck but it was slim pickin this year in PA. Now I have to figure out how to post a picture.

Here it is. I scored it at 115 ....

I got my buck last night. The last day I was going to be able to hunt during the regular season - as I was walking back to the car. A good 8 point. I haven't scored it yet, but I'm thinking 120's. The body is big though. Dressed, it's still around or above 200 lbs. Here are pics. I'll update and post the story once it's scored.

I should have checked. So we are either 5 does or one good buck out of first place. It looks like my club is going to organize a drive for christmas weekend. I've got a good chance to get a doe at least.

I have a question so if I get a doe thats 25 more points... If so what if I kill two doe is that 50 pts.... Just asked. I usually get 2 in flintlock.......

I noticed the same thing the other day. It's definitely wrong, and it gets us a few points closer. Come on guys. Get after it.

I made a spreadsheet checking the math of Team 7 and Team 13 since we are so close. I posted the error in the score thread and it has been corrected. We are 84 4/8 behind.

I will do my part and kill a Doe. After the holidays I think the 27th is when we can start smash deer again.

Knock, Knock is the coffee ready? I took my boots off at the door. My boots were full of snow. My rifle season for a buck was over Nov. 29. I am still after them for the bow contest. I have not had much luck harvesting any with the bow.
I am not going to have any fingernails left by the time the contest is over.
Stop by our place anytime. Don't bother to take your shoes off, we're just some backwoods boys. Help yourself to the coffee because we are going to be busy till Jan. 31.

Got another doe yesterday out at Desoto Wildlife Refuge. Stopped to have her checked on the way out of the refuge, and both guys doing the weighing and age check said she was one of the biggest they'd seen that day. She weighed in at 120 pounds and age estimate was 6 years. Still have a buck tag to fill from there I'll be out again this afternoon.

FIRST OFF MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Second Tomorrow might be the day for a doe for me.

OK here is my report. I saw about 20 some deer Yesterday but to far away for my comfort zone with the SMokepole.... Hopefully Monday!

OK so it didn't happen Monday for a doe but it did happen Tuesday! Thats right guys another 25 pts for team 13!!!!
