Hey Guys, my name is Matt and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. If we have a chance in beating the Dark Horses, everyone must help out and put bone on the ground. We probably need about 9 out of the 10 of us to put a score on the board if we have a chance of winning. In the mean time lets all introduce ourselves and get to know each other better.

Ok, So my name is Matt, I hunt MD, I'm usually in the woods about 2 times a week. I have a few good areas, and now I'm just waiting for sept 15th to get here. Tell me about yourselves guys!!!

This is a slow thread! LOL!

I am Rick and I live in Kansas. I usually hunt 2-3 times a week during season. It opens Sept. 19th I think here. I will have to go over the rules. I cant remember if we get points for does or not but I have no problem shooting a doe either.

My bowtech is eager to put something on the ground.

Hi Rick, Nice to meet you, Welcome to the Team. No Does in this competition but we will be counting on you to put one of those big Kansas bucks down. Remember your first buck killed goes on the scoreboard, also make sure you take a pic of you, the deer and your bow in the same pic.

Hopefully the other members will start trickling in soon so we can get this thing started.

Once we all check in we can start thinking about a name and team captain.

Did anyone play in the contest last year? How did you do?

I was Captain of Team 46 "Silent Stalkers". Had the biggest deer of the year pass by on opening day. After seeing about 4-8 deer everytime out I settled on a small 7 point, to put some bone on the ground.

My name is Jamie.. I hunt North Dakota. I have about 5 spots that i have set up for bow hunting, and trail cams at everyone... I am in the field as much as i possibly can.. Ill be on here as much as possible also.. I hope we all have a good year.. And i hope i can contribute a nice score...

Yep I was in the gun contest only. I did well last season but by the time gun got here my tags were full :rock:. I've just been waiting for this season to get into the bow contest. Great to be onboard, so let's do this thang!!!

Sorry guys, been out of town and just bought a new house on top of it.
I hunt quite a few different places in Monroe county IL and a couple spots in Jefferson county IL.. Not a heck of a lot on our cameras this year so far but I'm going to check them on one farm tomorrow.
I can't wait for Oct. 1st and I'm counting the days!

Thanks for the welcome, and yes I'm ready for the season to started. New job and all don't know what it will be like. I've got some good spots but really don't know if I'll be able to spend the same 150+ hrs in the woods this year. If my spots hold up it should be a great season.

Maybe we should start working on our Team name, while we wiat for the others to join us.

I've only saw a bunch of smaller bucks, doe and faws so far on the one property I hunt. Just got a new area, just need to go scout it, literaly it just came through tonight. Looks promising from the road. I don't care who the Captain is. Who ever wants it can have it. I did it last year and I thought I did OK. I seem to be on the internet all the time, so that is a plus, I guess. You guys decide. As for a name I say we start throwing names out there and we will see what happens.

Guys I'm as pumped as you are. This has been a long Summer and now I can't wait to get back in the stand again. If you all want I would be happy to be the Captain of the "Winning" Team, black horses are going down, sorry to say.

Does anyone have any experience with creating a Avater s/p? If not I can ask some of the nice people around here to help us out.

I think we have some good promise on this team. Two great things and I can't say it enough is that we have guys who want to win and we all hunt in locations that can produce the bucks we need, in order to get to that magic 900 number.

Alright 2 more team mates to go now. Come on guys before Rob issues us replacements.

I have been having problems with my computer and a broken hand. I bought a new computer and now the cast is off. I have been hunting deer here in MN for the pass 16 years. Although I don't seem to make it in the woods as much as you guys, I sure try to make it count when I get the time. I deer hunt about ten to fifteen days a year. Over the last three years I have been lucky enough to take a 127, 133, 144, and a 153. All the deer where in that order so that is kinda cool. We manage a 160 of prime hunting land in SE MN. We try not to shoot any less than 3 1/2 years old and most stick to 4 1/2 and up. The land owners around us also particiapate in the same program so it works nice. This year we have seen some nice deer in the 140 but no monsters yet. I am sure some will show during the rut, they always do. Anyway, good luck to all of you!

Hi Pete, How's your hand with shooting a bow? Sounds like you've had some great luck the past few years. We can't wait to see what you can add to the team points this year!!!! We need those types of numbers if we're going to pull out a victory.

The hand feels fine, I have been shooting this last week and I'm going to get it cranked up a few pounds and put the final touches on the bow. I don't care what the name is but if I had to pick, it would be the widow makers. MN opens on the 19th and I will make it out the following weekend.

Glad to hear the hand is doing fine, we could surely use one of those MN bucks on the board.

I like Widow Makers as well. Lets hear from everyone else.

btw, Looks like it's going to be a new moon around Sept. 18/19, we couln't ask for anything more.
