Wayne,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family over your very close loss. Your dad is right, and your grampa will be with you on all your future hunts - trust me. You both will be in my prayers.

Wayne,
Sorry to hear about you're grampa passing away. I know its hard mentally when your very close to someone like that. I lost my Dad about 1 1/2 ago. I was very close to him and think about him all the time. He was 74 and also died of cancer. I do consider myself lucky because we had a year with him after he was diagnosed. In that time, I had the opportunity to thank him for being my father. We had alot of good talks. I think about him alot but what makes me feel better is always thinking about the good times we had together. To me life is all about family and friends. I feel lucky because of this. Wayne, just remember the good times you had with your grampa, it will always bring a smile to your face. My prayers are with you.

No doubt Dave, in fact just before you posted that i was thinking about the last turkey hunt we had. A bird came in and i shot and wounded it, he shot and missed, and then i shot and it went down. We got up to do get it, got 10 yards from it and it got up and started to run. I bet between me and him we shot 10 shots, one right after another at that bird and never hit him. We finally got him and shooting that many times might have not been the best thing to do but thinking back to that hunt now it kinda funny to think about and brings back good memories.

Well said Dave, a death in the family is always tough especially when it's someone you are really close too. Sorry for your loss wayne. We've been dealing with the same stuff here. My mom has been battling cancer for 3 years now, and she just got the news last week that it is back in her lungs really bad. she goes to St. louis on tuesday to see what they are going to do, doesn't sound to optimistic though. They have exhausted all forms of kemo. My uncle collapsed in church today as well.
He's in his 80's and has epillepsy so it's hard to say what's going to happen with him. It's always something.
On a brighter note, i saw a group of 14 bucks tonite, and 4 of them were really nice. there were a couple that had dropped on antler too. I also got a lot of trail pics this week of bucks, 178 in one spot, and several of them were pics of them fighting/sparring, pretty cool.
