Oh I am ready, Got all the stands in place. I will not be head into any of my hunting areas until opening day.

My bow is sighted in...shooting darts.

All I have to do this weekend is wash all my camo and store them in airtight containers!

I can't wait!

Hey Mikey, what part of NY do you hunt? i just came from our property in the Adirondacks, set up a few stands for muzzleloader, dont think i can make it up there for bow season. I take it you are in the southern Zone?

Hey Shane,

3 Parts basically in NY that I hunt:

1. Westchester County with the bow - it has some areas that look like NYC, but some, like Pound Ridge where I am in a deer management program with the local PD is loaded with deer. Took a 146 inch buck there last year. I also hunt Bedford and North Salem. If you get chance, hunt this area. It is so much like Ohio (which I go every year) it isn't funny. Now, if we could remove the tree-huggers and Hillary Clinton (who lives in Chappaqua) we would be in deer heaven.
2. Sullivan County - Wurtsboro/Ellenville NY. Not great nutrition for deer, but it is good for a nice 120+ deer if I put the time in.
3. Greene County - Catskill NY -if you kill a forkhorn, you are lucky, but, great for back straps in the fridge.

Thats cool bud, sounds like you have a few good spots there. I hunt up in Herkimer county about 30 miles from Utica, or I should say will be hunting, we have had the property just over a year, first time hunting up there. Its at the southern end of the Adirondacks. from whatI have heard good deer and bear hunting or so the locals say. Guess we will see.

Good luck. Always wanted to head up there and try the area for bear. I shot two in Sullivan County in back to back years, one was 190 lbs the other was 275. Pretty big for the area. NY is starting to get some nice bear hunting.

well boys this is probably the last time im gonna talk to ya till monday or so.. the season starts in the mornin.. im ready to go and will be stayin at my cabin this weekend hunting like mad... tommorrow doesnt look to promising but we will see supposably rain in the am. and a high of 78 so we will see and good luck to you boys...

Hey guys, checkin in.....hope you guys are havin some luck! I cant wait for october 4th. early doe opens this saturday but i dont think i am going to put in to much time before the season starts. to many couple nice bucks around i dont want to educate until i can shoot at them.

to your ? drock, still no luck. im probably having the worst overall begining season ive ever had tbh. im not seeing much of anything yet, and im hunting all different spots. last night, i almost drilled a turkey. he got within about 7 yrds of me and i was drawn back but then he saw me and ran. then 3 more came, one with a beard almost draggin the ground and i stood up drew back but they never did stop. other than turkeys, im just out there countin the acorns on the ground as of now lol!

btwwe can hunt anyday here in ky,thankfully b/c my school and work schedule are so random that i never get a full weekend off. i can hunt morning or evening anyweekdaybut most mornings im trying to sleep off the studying from the night before[&:], and im tryin to get my car project finished so alot of time goes into that too. im very busy to say the least!!!:D

Hey guys, Iknow this is a deer hunting forum but, a friend of mine shot a 535 POUND BLACK BEAR two nights ago, yes a 535 POUND BLACK BEAR and that was dressed out!!!!!! HOLY SHNIKEEEEES!!!!!! Oh by the way that was in Gogebic County Bessemer, MI

Early doe started saturday around here. Went out today to take a doe at one of my spots. saw a 3 pt. Had6 does all to far away to shoot, of course right at dark (to dark to shoot) a big old doe comes in and stands 10 yds. broadside I just sat there shaking my head lol. have to wait until the 4th for buck to open. Great to be back in a tree though!

Season opens on Oct 1 for the U.P. eh!Me and the father in law just finished the deck on my house, so It looks like I'll be hunting the opener!Yahooo I'll try and smoke a big one either that or a doe cause I'm just itching to drop something and we have city limits doe tags again!!!!I'll kep you all posted.Kill IT and Grill IT!!!
