Cant speak for anyone else, but where I live the DNR let them kill off almost everything with 2.00 unlimited Doe tags, so you could not pay me to shoot one around here.
As for the other places I hunt, when I can see that the Buck to Doe ratio is out ofbalance I will shoot One, Two or however many I can to help out. Just dont like the idea of shooting one to get points for an internet contest. So right off the get go who's ever team I am on, is at a disadvantage.

Sliver:

Credit where credit's due......

Given your caveat......that is a VERY valid point. Kudos.

Simplicity. And maybe a little tradition. This is how the contest has been run, leave it that way.

It is a BUCK contest...plain and simple

Some people (me) can only eat one deer per year...so I don't think that shooting more than one deer should be a way to rack up more points.

Just my .02

Just leave the contest alone, it is for bucks, about bucks, and a tribute to the bucks.

Thats the worst Idea ever thought of for a Buck contest.

I would like to see the traditional gear thing passes, but only be worth 10 more " on antler.

None of ya was forced to sign up if you didn’t like the format.
Leave it as is.

Said this WAY back on page 3.....AND Sliver's point has made me change my mind about allowing them.

Guess we ought to change the name of the contest, though.;)

Maybe we ought to change the name of the contest, then.:)

The big blowback you're gonna get is from people who don't give a rat's ass about shooting a doe......whether that's needed in their area or not. It's just a fact. They're not gonna shoot 'em....and they don't wanna see YOU get any points for shooting one, either.

I think we went through all this last year (and the year before and the....) Didn't we end up having a side contest for the biggest doe last year? I think a side contest is the only way to go.
