John, that's very odd, your Nikon 440's crapping out on you THAT soon! I've had my 440's for three years, and they're still working fine. Never even had to change batteries.

I loved the 440 Greg and have more than a couple Nikon scopes so I was very surprised that it stopped working. It was never dropped or mishandled so who knows. The 440 I liked but Nikon's farmed out customer service stunk!! I would have liked tohave had some negotiation but Nada. They wanted S&H to send it back to me but I just said forget it so they sent it back anyway.I guess a smarter man would have sent in the warantee card. Could have saved two Bills.

Its going to be hot up here for a couple more days and then drop way off. Sounds like the higs are going to be in the mid 50s by the middle of the week! I'll get some stands hung in the next couple of weeks.

Hey Jeff. I do remember you from the Xbow forum. It's a friendly but quiet bunch for the most part just content at playing the game their way. I just want to be in the woods.
I may drop the poundage of my Vortex but unsure (sorta) of how low I can go. I'm pulling 62lb now which has never failed me and based on the fact I have never shot at a deer past 30yds I'm thinking off dropping down to 50lb and know at that weight I will still get a pass thru @ 20yds. I do know I killeda few deer with the Xbow last year and every shot was well under 20 yds. I also know that one of the bucks would have had me dead to rights if I had had to draw on him.I also took a slightly quartering to shot that whacked him hard in the shoulder. I would have never even tried the shot with the stick bow. Rock on bud..

Hey Greg!! I live in Marshfield and do 90% of my hunting within 15 miles from home. I do have some great stands out in Z3 around Beartown and East mountain so maybe we should take a road trip out there. Great woods with a growing population. Actually!!! If you have a GPS I could give you the coordinates and you could check out the area.

The avatar looks great and when the kids get out of bed I will have them hook me up. It's sad when you look to a 14 or 16 YO for comp assist.

My season doesn't open until Oct sumpin but I have been tossing a ton of arrows, tending stand sites both new and old. I have some cool ground blinds in place. I felt like a kid building a fort but I whacked my bestdeer from one last year.Awful buggy in the woods when it's warm and you break a sweat. This time of the year I walk thru the woods like a bull moose. The only precautions I take are I hold ina fart.

I took a trip to the bow monkeyshop because I need a new Rangefinder. My Nikon 440 diedin less than a year and I had not sent in the warrantee card. They wanted$180 to fix sumpin I onlypaid $200 for. Very disapointed withNikon's assistance.Itry and buy my crapolla from the local guy but for the rangefinder it will be Ebay.

Game cams are ready to go and I have 3 fish totes of apples to use. I can't hunt over bait but it's a great way to get an idea of how many deer are in an area.

Shake it easy boys and see you in the woods.
hey partner, nice to meet a fellow mass-hole on the forum! haha, I'm not too familiar with Marshfield, what kind of land do you have out there? Is it suburbs or fairly rural? Unfortunately I don't have a GPS. I have been looking around for a place close to school in either Mass, or Conn, but between school and work i'm not sure how much time i'll really have to hunt out here. Once deer season in NY opens up i usually go back there every weekend. But if you end up doing any scouting or hunting on this end of the state let me know, maybe we can meet up.
