Chad - that sounds sweet - sorry the whities would not come and check you out! That dude is a wide bugger! Looks like great mass as well! Keep after them, I am sure you will wear them down!

We went down south this weekend, did not even take my bow! - has so much stuff going on that we did not even get out to check the trail cam's[:'(]. Will be out next weekend though! (well at least Sunday and Monday).

Good luck everyone!

Great hunt tonight!

I went with a friend to his aunts farm, which is the farm that I have been wanting to hunt for years!! lol My jaw dropped when he pulled in and showed me the land that I get to hunt now. I remember driving past it and always saying I wish I could hunt there, now I can!!!

I did see 3 bucks tonight. 4,5,and 6 pointers. The only one I had a shot at was the 4 and I didnt want to waste my only buck tag on him...so I let him walk.

Great night though! Cant beat the good ol' fashion adrenaline rush of a deer hunt!

Sounds great Jenna, sometimes just seeing deer is what makes it worth it. Good luck

Jen, now all you need to do is see ol' moss back and run an arrow through him!!!! Thats pretty cool how you guys can get permission to hunt other folks farm without them wanting money...That would never happen here in Texas, everything here is leased out for hunting...Seems like it is turning into big business here....

I just got off the phone with Todd (wallhangr) and he just arrowed a buck! He will be away from a computer for the weekend, unless something changes, so he asked if I would keep all of you informed on how he is doing. He shot the deer at 6:45 this morning and when I spoke with him he was giving him time to expire. He felt good about the shot and was optimistic that he would recover the deer shortly. I will let Todd tell the story and give the details when he gets back. He has had a great morning in the stand.

Jenna-That sounds like a great hunt and a great spot. Congrats on the new ground.

TBH-I feel your pain in regards to the leasing. It has been going that way here in Illinois for quite sometime. I almost vomitted when I sat here thinking about it and I realized that I have been leasing ground since 1995. That is nuts!

It has been way too warm here this week. We have a cold front coming through tomorrow and after that it should be ON! I will be out all weekend and hopefully something will come together.

Good luck everyone!

Brett, thats good news, we will be the late bloomers and come from behind...Thanks for sharing.....
I too have been leasing land since I was a kid (wellmy dad did back then) andthe way the prices of land are here in Texas it appears that will be my only options for several more years....
I hope you have a good weekend out there and get yourself a nice deer!!!!!

Best of luck to all of you guys and girls that will be hunting in the near future!!!!

The bucks are on the move! I have been seegin so many deer its crazy! I seen 5 today pulling through our developement...and of course I slam my brakes on and stick my head out the window like a dog and watch them lol

I did get me a coon tonight. Our mutts treed her this morning and she wouldnt come down....we do have a coon problem here so I decided to do my part and help the community and lessen the coon population haha

First shot...right in the eye with my .22....I was so excited I think im gonna tan the hide since the face is pretty banged up for a full body mount.

Nice coon there and a great shot Jenna!

I hunted for the last 4 days mornings and evenings. A big front moved in this morning and it started to cool way down and drizzle, "big blizzard is on its way they say" Anyways I thought for fun I would leave my decoy out because a couple of bigger bucks had been roaming through during the night so I placed it in front of my trail camera and this is what took place. This same buck showed back up this morning, I suppose to see if his opponent was still laid out! I decided to pass on him at 16 yds, I could have shot him several different times as he milled around. I figured him to be a 147-150" buck that just needs one more year. It was a fun week non the less!

Here he is at a rubbing post I had set a camera up on this past week.

This big bodied 6x5 showed up this week also, to bad his rack is so uneven though. I'd have to stick him If I get a chance thou, he seems good and mature.

Jenna - sounds like you had a great hunt! - feels good to pass on one! - and will feel better to shoot one, it is getting close now! - Nice shot on the coon! Congrats!

Congrats to wallhangr - its good to be on the board! (or at least having a buck down and inches on the way!) I think we will be getting the domino effect here quickly!

TBH - you are still about a week or so out rigt? - hope you get back for the thick of it!

Chad - I think we may get a little back end of that front on Friday - may have a little snow mixed with rain. you have some great trail cam pic's - just love them! I can't beleive how much that rubbing post has been worn down! - have to shoot him just to mitigate property damage

Initially I had taken Friday off and was going to be out Friday - Monday, but due to a scheduling conflict - this weekend will be shortened to Sunday and Monday, but with temps dropping (was quite warm this past weekend) and the activity heating up, the big dogs should be out and about. I am waaay past ready anyway!

Best of luck to everyone out there - and most importantly... be safe!

Mike

Well guys it was a tough track, but he was found! As soon as I get a chance today I'll post all the details and pic. There was definitely some ground shrinkage, but a rewarding experience.

Thanks to Brett for keeping my spirits and hopes up until he was found
