I haven't been inside our woods since gun season! I have seen seven shooters in the beans so that is where i'll be after I shoot my doe. This earn a buck is kinda cool, but sucks when the big boy comes down the trail and you haven't shot your doe yet. 18 days left for WI opener.
AND IF THIS GUY DOESN'T SHOWER YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A CHANCE!

STINKY

We still have two that haven't checked in yet. How long do they have before they're replaced? I'll pm them a reminder about the contest.

Well I only have a week to hunt this year. (I have three sons and run a small business). I have booked myhunt for Nov. 9th - 16th. I hunt Bear Valley, WI, a place that has some HUGE dear. I took a 151 inch 10 pt. from the farm with my rifle 4 years ago. Last year the guy that owns the farm right next to ours took a 176 inch buck during rifle season. Ateenager about a half a mile away arrowed a 192 inch buck2 years ago. So I have a great opportunity to kill a monster, or at the very least a 125 - 130 incher. My best bow buck was a freaky 140 inch 14 point (5 on the left and 9 on the right). Last year I took a 121 inch 8 pt. buck the last day of my hunt. The weather was terrible (very warm and extremely windy) so I was pretty happy with what I got. SO don't expect anything from me until mid November.

Yeah, it's definitely God's Country. I hate leaving the place and heading back to the city. Great land for deer. The primary crop is corn/alfalfa on 120 acres surrounded by Oaks, very thick Blackberry bushes and great ground cover.

Great lookin' deer and yes, very beautiful land, a little slice of Heaven. Good luck up there and I really hope you kabob a monster! I start October 15th, but it's actually a damn Wednesday and I have class. I might get to hunt that afternoon with my ex-landlord on his private land close to Auburn, if I'm lucky. On my private land and the surrounding clubs, I'd say the biggest buck killed each year is around 140"-150", somewhere in that area. I got the big one lastJanuary with my rifle, 140" 13 pt. Two years ago on the last day of the season, the buck in the picture below was killed on the club next to me. Picture is from my game cam on our land, where he came to feed every single night very very late. He bedded on the club, right across the line in the thickest stuff you can imagine. Never got a shot at him. Four years ago my cousin came to the land and killed a very nice 12 point, so we have some nice ones walkin around here and there. It'slikely that I won't see another 140" buck this year because I won't be able to hunt as much as I have in the past, but if there's one around there I know where he's gonna be, and I probably have the best chance of all the hunters in the area to find him because of my land being between their club and hundreds of acres of NON-HUNTED Power Company land. The first few weeks at my land I'm gonna concentrate on taking out does, hopefully between me and some buddies we can take out a handful early on. If we do, that will surely helpmy chances at seeing big papa come December and January.

Here's the one that got away. He was surely an old timer, and believe me I hunted the hell out of him from places on my land I'd never been before. It was good to hear that he'd been killed byan honest hunter, being so old and all, but I wanted him and kinda felt like he was MINE, haha.
