I'm done guys, I tagged a doe with the ML on opening weekend. We are a one deer a year in my area, so looks like I will be scouting the rest of the year. At least I didnt eat tag soup again this year, it didnt taste very good last year.

Still hunting here...
I just got back from the second Illinois gun season where I seen lots ofbucks but nothing I wanted to put a tag on so I shot a nice doe. I've already killed two does with my bow so that makes three does for the season. I still need to connect on a buck but so far nothing that strikes my fancy. I've got about 5 weeks left in the season so I'm still out there...
I will check back later, good luck to all those still hunting and congrats to those who have connected!

Hey fellas, my season ended yesterday...no points for the team (I wish does counted for something!)
I saw the biggest buck of the season at 60 yards through a bunch of saplings...couldnt squeeze one off even if I was confident out to that yardage...He was a nice 10 pointer with great spread and above average mass and tine length...probably a 130"+ deer! I also saw 8 does on the day...
It was a good year for me considering the winter kill we had in Maine...I blew a 35 yard shot at a decent 6 pointer and missed a doe, and still ended up with 3 doe with the bow and a 6 pointer with the rifle.
Good luck to anyone still hunting!
