Well I didn't get in the woods either this weekend. I was in Charlotte for the race on Saturday night. I was in the infield. It was a lot of fun. We got to meet Kurt Busch and talk with him for several minutes. We also saw Clint Bowyer, Rusty Wallace, David Stremme, and Michael Waltrip. I was going to hunt yesterday but I wasn't feeling so hot after consuming so many adult beverages during the race! :D

I'm probably gonna get back at it tomorrow.

Hit the outdoors on Sunday morning. I was more interested a turkey as the weather was so warm. I set up in my tree about an hour before first light and just watched the stars and listened to the owls. About 6:20 a crow squawked and I had a gobble right close by, maybe 50-75 yards away. I was pumped, figuring they would certainly come in on me. I heard them all fly down, and never saw a thing!

No deer either. Once the sun got above horizon, the furnace kicked on. May get to go out on Weds though, which is when the cool down is supposed to happen. Stupid indian summer!

took a shot at a decent 8 pointer tonight. it was a little out of my comfort range but I got lost in the moment and took the shot. I couldn't tell if I hit him, he bolted as soon as i shot then stopped. He just stood around a little but kept licking his side. I got out of their at dark and will go back first thing in the morning, it is about 500 yards from the house so I will go back at first light.

Hopefully you either missed or made a solid hit. Let us know what happens!

I may actually get out tomorrow for a bit, if the thunder and lightning hold off, which the forecast doesn't look promising. I won't melt, but I will cook to a lovely medium rare if i get zapped!

I made a solid hit, it was actually a 10 pointer,I recovered him firstthing this morning about 20 yards from where I last saw him.i will ppost pics and score later.
