Guys i just got permission to hunt a new parcel of land just under 60 acres most of it is field but the back edge of the property has an apple orchard and then there are oak ridges below it that boarders state land, and the best thing about is its only 5 mins from the house. i scouted this area from the state land below last year and found a ton of rubs and scrapes so im excited to hunt it.

mobow...i hope the weather cools off for you man, thats the one thing i like about living up north usually its in the 50's come oct.

I do my fair share of welding here at the shop,,,a few years a ago i made 2 ladder stands, and the welds havent broke yet

Im heading out hunting tonight, i finally got my newer bow back yesterday, it was in the shop a freaking week to get the center serving reserved.

Thanks finner. I was great. That is pretty cool about the new spot. Being that close you should be able to get to it more I hope. I have looked into getting permission to hunt closer to home so I had somewhere for the weekdays but permission is very hard to get and I don't know if I would use it enough anyway. With the cabin we have and such with 9 of our 11 stands up I just like to hunt there to much. Are you going to the new spot tonight? I sure hope someone gets us on the board soon. Doesn't have to be a monster but some points would be good.

yeah im going to sneak in there and find a spot to put a ground blind or a tree for my hang on stand or climber, if i see a buck its got to have 3 points on a side in order to be legal here this year. i wont be too picky though, even ifa fork horn comes in with a brow tine, im going to let him have it. ever since i ented this contest 3 years ago i have notshot a buck with the bow. maybe too much pressure..lol

Well best of luck to you.The ONLY buck I have in the last 4 years was my little velvet buck (3 point) 2 years ago. The first year of this I broke my leg on October 23rd. Actually my best buck ever with a bow is a 6 point many years ago. I was out of bow hunting a long time. Got back into it here in 2002 and been loving it ever since. I quiet ONLY because my son and daughter couldn't go with me much so I took up duck and goose hunting. Easier to have kids with for that and we had a BLAST. Anyway I will probably shoot any buck that is bigger than my best at this point. I have been hunting for 6 years out here waiting for Mr. Big to show up and no luck. I shoot a doe or 2 every year but no bucks. Keep hoping that letting the small ones go will help in the future but with the CWD and no limits on buck tags other than shooting a doe first too many in the area shoot all bucks. Just nothing making it to be older than 2.5 years.

Wanted to go out this morning, but my camo was still wet from Monday evening. Got it all dry now and will be out this evening.

here's the new land i just got permission to hunt, any areas jump out to you guys, North is toward the top of the map...the green are apples and i can hunt inside the red box,,,and to the east is all huntable state land, but dosent get much pressure with oaks and hemlock ridges running thru it.

hmmm cant get it uploaded, says its not the right type of file, and i cant figure how to change it from a PNG to jpeg.

Right click on it and select "edit".....It should open it up in paint.....Then in the file menu, select "save as" and jpeg should be an option.
