Before anyone gets excited I will tell you this place is beautiful on paper but just doesnt hold the big ones. For the past three years I hunted my butt off on this place along with my brother and father in law. We saw one nice buck but it just doesnt hold big deer. Hey guys, well I'm a little concerned. Season starts in just over 2 weeks, and my dad & bother in law are going into my food plot to cut some trees down. This is in the middle of the woods...
On the plus side, theres a few dead oaks there so that will make the food plot a little bigger, but I'm worried the all the commotion will mess up the deer, (this is where I'm getting pictures of the big buck).
My dad is a hunter and knows the possible consequences of this but the plan is to just drop the trees and drag them out quickly. not cut them up there. I guess we'll see if it makes a difference or not. I'm hoping it doesnt.
See my Sister & brother in law use a ton of firewood the help heat their house. She's having triplets in december so they need to stock up so he doesnt have to cut anymore after the babie come. SO I really dont have a leg to stand on, all I can do is help so it gets done faster.
Basement update: I worked on it again friday night, I'm 90% done framing, just gotta throw up a quick wall and soffit and I'm onto electrical work. Might actually be close to being done by hunting season at this pace!!!!
Any body got a pellet or gas stove they want to sell me??? The HVAC in my basement is terrible.

Hey Ed, I just got my HSS yesterday. The tether is 28" long.
The vest is very easy on and off; but I will agree with some of the reviews I read
on Cabelas website, it is a little on the heavy side, but I feel its well worth the money.
Sorry, no stoves here but it sounds like your man cave project is coming along nicely!!

Seth...Did you get your bow problems ironed out yet? Wonder how John (hoghunting) is doing?

Dennis~ Its funny you asked, I actually just got back from the new archery shop that re-opened from previous years that I was all excited about! Well i go to there Grand Opening, and they were packed but had time to talk with the owner and told him I needed my serving retied, peep turned and just a overall tune-up. He then informs me that my serving was worn to much where my release goes and I had cut 3-4 strands under the serving so now the bow is 45mins away getting a new $50 string made for it[:@]!!! So much for breaking into the season with as lil spent as possible!!!!
On the bright side, its a new custom pre stretchedstring, peep will be right, my centershot will be dead on after he gets done retuning and I should be back to shooting straight by next weekend. I am debating on getting a string loop, but I am not sure if my DL can be set back a 1/2'' or not? Will talk to him about it next week!!
I did however put a new string on my release and it should be just fine to use for the rest of the year, and I will try to pick up a new one at a cheaper price in the off-season!!
I will update more after I get the bow back!!
Ed~~ Sorry no stoves here!!!

What to do! sit in a stand or a blind? Have two places on one property. One is in a stand in the evening, where they come walking thru. The other is in blind early, where they come in to bed down. What do you guys think? I have to check on another piece of property I hopefully will get to hunt. I used to hunt it before it was sold. Plowed snow for the new owner w/o charging him. Told him I just want access to hunt, but haven't heard from him after I left my number. If I can go back to there, I know that parcel will produce for us. Just nicked a real big boy there last yr. What's your opinon on the first question, stand or blind.
