Hey guys, smoked a decent MD 10pt tonight!!! So much for my bad luck??? It's changed toBUCK LUCK! It was anice double lung at 20 yrds... He's a youngerdeer (I'm guessing 2.5) and had me fooled because he looked a lot bigger going through the woods, he was movin fast and I didnt have time to hesitate, thankfully you can kill 2 bucks in MD, nowI gotta get my 2 does down... I'll try that tomorrow. Even if I had more time I probably would still take him, I have trail cam pics of him and was on the fence becuase he showed great potential, oh well he'll taste GREAT! its a shame I couldnt enter him into the contest he's just a bit bigger than my first one...

Well guys I am heartbroken right now!!!I am just completely frustrated that I have an arrow in the best buck I have ever shot in this area(wallhanger I believe) and cannot find him!!!!

There is not much of a story on the shot because it all happened in probably 15 seconds or so!! I am sitting in the ladderstand that I have talkin about in the past with all the scrapes around. Im paying a majority of my attention to my right where the deer generally work through when I catch a glimpse of something 25yrds in front/left of me. I look and all I see is a rack, I hook the release and then tapped my bow off the treestand and the buck looked at me but proceeded to walk away! I drew back and he stopped at 28yrds in front of me quartering away!! I shoot and hit right behind the shoulder(I think too far forward), the arrow did not go all the way through as I heard a loud crack and all but the last 4-6inches of my arrow was buried right behind his shoulder?? I dont know if I hit off the opposite shoulder or brisket bone?? I watch hime run away for 60-80 yrds crashing into everything on the way through, I felt great about the shot expecting him to crash within sight!!?? I shot at 7:00 and gave him til about 8:15-8:30 before a buddy met up wth me and helped me track him!! We were on spots of blood(only bleeding from entrance side) and tracked for probably 200 yrds before he went up a steep small hill and then he started pumping blood everywhere!! The buck then proceeded across a creek and up another large hill, once again bleeding heavy but it petered out to spots every 5-10 yrds as this continued for probably 1mile(?), the buck never bedded down one time?? I dont believe we were pushing him either, THE RAIN DIDNT HELP EITHER!!!!!!! We looked until just a little bit ago and found the last small spot of blood on the neighbors property and then could not find any more blood?? We made circles for awhile but found nothing????
I have no idea how to go back out after him, there is no more blood as the last rain is washing most of it away????

I dont know its just so damn upsetting, I can understand to a point if I made a really bad hit but WOW I felt great about this shot, basically hit where I was aiming but a bit more forward then I would like?? I WAS thinking one lung, but after seeing some of the hills he went up I really dont know?? In the mile long track the deer probably lost what seemed like 2-3 pints of blood?????

THIS SUCKS!!!!!

Ohhh I am 90% positive I hit the deer right here same angle and all....??

I am sorry to hear about that MD... That would really stink!

I got out to my stand at 5:20 a.m. this mornin and sat till 9:40 and didn't see nothin exept for 4 stinkin squirrels that were wantin to climb up the tree I was in... Then my brother, he's sittin prolly about 650yards away from me and he has this monster 3x3 with eye gards thats been comin to my spot walk right under him 10 yards away! The only problem he has now is that he doesn't have his release! So he finger draws his bow and is holding it for about a minute and by now he's as shaky as a leaf! So the buck starts to walk off and it gets to 28 yards and stops! He raised his bow again and then he was so shaky that he accedentally released the arrow and it hit 15 feet below the deer and it just took off runnin!

Seth, I am betting you one lunged him, which if is the case, he can go along ways. What did the blood look like? Was he headed for any type of water source? The rain sucks, I lost that Doe yesterday because of it. Although the spots she bleed good, were still visible even after the rain, SO....you might be able to get back on the areas where he bleed really well???? Don't know how much rain your getting though? I hope you find him.

Well yesterdaywe hunted all day, me and my Dad seen 0 and my brother seen 4 total. And today, I didn't see anything this morning, my Dad seen 1 Doe, and my brother seen a 130'ish and 1 Doe, and this afternoon, I seen 5 Doe's and everyone else seen 0....Frustrating....Where is this rut? I really believe the bucks are locked up right now.
