I got news, I will not be doing any hunting in Ft. Campbell, TN, because the system is too difficult to deal with for us, so instead, me and my dad and uncle are planning to hunt those days during the thick of rifle season on private property, where we lease, so it'll mostly be alot of rifle hunting for me, maybe 6 days in all of rifle hunting, as well as 2 days of muzzleloader season hunting with either my uncle's muzzleloader or his crossbow.I hope this season goes well for me, I'll be praying about that......

There's a few 6 pointers, and definately a couple 8's, the biggest deer shot on that property was a 9 point, one heck of a deer, and we'll justhave to see what we come up with this year, last year was really a "culling" year, unintentionally, we ended up having the majority of our kills being one-horned spikes (I'm not kidding, not two-horned, but only one-horned) and does, my uncle did kill a great 8 pointer last year; however, but it had a broken tine and two or three points chipped.
Hopefully the "culling" willhelp us, lol, but we've done some excellent work trimming shooting lanes for gun and muzzleloaderseason:I mean if you sat in the stand, you'd have a clear shot into the woods for almost 100 yards, but at the same time, we used good judgement, and didn't leave too little cover.
When the bowhunting pressure starts building up everywhere else, it'll be practically nonexistent 'till the muzzleloader opener, and that's what we're banking on, that the deer will be present in good numbers on our property, unless the weather kills the deer movement, but some of the biggest deer are taken in the rain, so, you just never know what you'll see in the woods!Anything could happen.
But yes, to answer your question, we see some good deer out there, with luck, of course. But I can't tell you how much our deer herd there would benefit from an "earn-a-buck" program. We have way too many does, lol.

I will be hunting in north florida, more specifically taylor county, florida. I hunt in 2 clubs that are 48,000 acres and 90,000 acres each, and i have another 85 acres of private land of my family's to hunt. The bucks are tiny compared to most everyone else's, but there are plenty of them and we kill alot. Bow season started 2 weekends ago and i have already taken these two bucks (5 and 6pt)below, but during general gun season i will be running hounds 95% of the time. It's my passion and nothing is better than listening to a good deer race. We are seeing bucks everywherein both clubs and it should be fairly easy for me to contribute a decent florida buck to the team score.
