Buck Rogers here, with a sweet cold.[:'(]Hunting in Iowa. I only get 2 weekends in Oct. to hunt so anything with antlers is going to be in trouble. I do however have some monsterous deer I am hunting. Will post pics soon.

I know rifle season is a ways out but here is what I'll be shooting this year.

Remington 700 in .300 win mag.
Winchester Fail Safe 180gr (I still have a few boxes left )

Bowhunting starts Saturday so I'll be out in the woods ! Can't wait.

it is a while til rifle season, bow starts soon which also makes for a great excuse for rifle season scouting...:D



whats everyones propertys look like? looks as if i will be hunting a few tracks of land again this year


3300 acres here in the Oklahoma panhandle, had a few 130's taken off the property, and seen bigger 150-160's, river bottom in the middle of the sections with wheat and corn on either side... 5 stands 3 feeders, haven't had a chance to get the cams out on it yet...

have a 25 acre section 5 mins from my house in Texas that were working on the management with neighboring ranchers to help our small track have great potential (two foodplots, 2 feeders, two stands) weve got a few decent bucks on trail cams and a niiice muley also...

3600 acres further into the heart of Texas, lots of 150-160 class bucks, 7 stands, 5 feeders, one food plot, 260 acres of it are river bottom, but you have to be smarter than they are... ;)


ill also be spending some time on some public land here, had decent success last year with muley's but have been scouting whitetails this year and have a few 130's spotted... just going to have to get to em before anyone else does [8D]

Well after IKE, Ive been tryin to squeeze in a few dove hunts while still headin to the deer property.

Ive seen alot of deer sign, trails through grass and gras dead all around the new feeder just put up this year. Also have LOTS of deer sign at my stand. The rye grass has sprouted which is planted in the 2 feeder pens.

NOW, we wait till November...

Bowfishing Addiction checkin in here. Been busy out bowhunting and waterfowl. Our firearm season is late this year in the last week of november.

Well ladies and gents, the first day of muzzleloader season passed, and I have the small 8 point buck to prove it. Story and photos to come when Im not so tired. He isnt much but hes something;)guessing around 60 inches.

well just had a falling out with a friend... there goes some of my land:(



story:
i went to go check game cams stopped off at my buddies (Cody) parents place seeing as he was there.. well i told him about my other friend (Randall) shooting right underneath a nice muley. well his parents were listening in and his mom said, "oh cody's cousins were wanting to come out and hunt on the land the next few weekends. With them coming out were afraid yall are going to over hunt the land, so we would you rather not bring other people on the land"

i sat there with a dumbfounded look. i was screaming !!!!!THATS BS!!!!!! in my head the whole time... reason being those are my feeders, my stands, i went in and split the price on the box blind but I built it. i cleaned out mesquite brush, cleared a driving path through there, and now they are telling me that they're bringing people who have never seen the land let alone with help setting up, and have their own 3000 acres in PRIME texas panhandle land, and have already harvested bucks this year... when randall has never shot a deer in his life...[:@][:@]

but what i can i do/say ? they own the land...[&:]

all i know is my feeders, stands and half that box blind are going to be gone sat morning before they get in there... going to be hard to shoot out of a box blind that is 3' tall with no feeders.;)

This contest actually slipped my mind. I've been doing a lot of bowhunting.

Mongo, that sucks. I'd probably have the same reaction if I were you.

I'll be hunting in MD, PA, and OH. Not sure if i'll be getting any time in OH in gun season though.
I was out this weekend in MD with the muzzleloader. Saw 3 small bucks, but nothing worth hanging a tag on. Wish I could find some private ground down here, but it's hard to come by.
PA's season won't be in for a while. I'll be hunting my grandfather's 300acres.

Well, my score no longer counts as I didnt have my muzzleloader in the picture. If it comes down to us losing by less than what my deer scored I'll look into the houses of the people that complained and egg them[:'(]. Sorry.

Fellas, although I will still be able to score the 8 point killed a few weeks ago into the contest, I will NOT(regretably) be able to enter this buck taken Thanksgivng day due to the fact I forgot about the gun.
