What ya shootin'?!?
I'm sure we all have posted somewhere on HNI before aboutour set-up for hunting and such, but how many people are shooting multiple bows and have one set up for target and one set-up strictly for hunting? Or are the majority of guys just going to be putting the field tips on the arrows and flinging those things at the 5-spots?
I myself just picked up a target bow but may not have it ready in time to really help out for the 5-spot league. That means I will be shooting my '06Trykon, set somewhere around 60#'s, 29" draw. Cobra Sure-Loc Sidewinder Sight, G5 Meta Peep, Carbon Express Maxima 250's with 100 grain tips, and an S-Coil for the time being. My target bow,a HoytProElite,is an '06 Inferno color, with 29"Spiral cams, I haven't decided poundage yet and the only accessory I have on itright now isa NAP Quicktune 3000 rest. Everything else needs to be ordered. In the end I truly believe it is the shooter who makes most of the difference when shooting target archery, the bow is just secondary to good and consistent form and proper mental preparation. ;) Anyone else have pictures or details of their bows they will be using for the spots league? Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Bols |

Am I the only one shooting a target specific rig?
Until the first of my Scepter 4's get hereI am shooting an Apex 7 setup at 56lbs - 30 3/4" with the following stuff on it: Copper John Ants Evo2 CR Apex Small Scope Mag Sight 6x lense w/ black ring Gibblet string/cable Super Peep with Yellow power clarifier lense Trophy Taker Spring Steel 1 hole rest Shrewd Carbon Devibe 26" front rod Cartel Deluxe adjustable v-bar bracket Shrewd Carbon Devibe 7" side rod Gold Tip 30X pro's with blazers and 150 grain points cut 1/2" past the rest Tru Ball ST-3 and BT Gold releases http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/ringostar40/Shrewd001.jpg I am sure the stabilizer setup will probably have to change on the new Scepter 4's to get my mass weight and balance where I want it. Most everything else should stay the same though. |

RE: What ya shootin'?!?
ORIGINAL: Rick James Am I the only one shooting a target specific rig? Basically, if I canget my stuff bought and sighted in before the contest is over, I will use it for a few scores. Otherwise, I am stuck with the Trykon, which isn't a bad stuck, just not a great stuck for indoor spots. |
RE: What ya shootin'?!?
