You can't hit the white 6 times in one end....You only shoot 5 arrows....You shoot 12 rounds of 5 arrows, one at each bullseye, for a total of 60 arrows per match. A perfect score, per ROUND, is 25 w/ 5X....

Let's say you shoot your first round of 5 arrows..You hit the white 3 times, 2 of those being in the X ring, and the blue twice. Your score, for that round, is 23 w/ 2X.....

Let's break that down. You hit the white 3 times, which is 5 points each, totalling 15.....You don't get any extrapoints for hitting the X ring, but you keep count of the X's.....You also hit the blue twice, at 4 points each that's 8.....15+8=23.....W/ 2X....

Repeat that sequence a total of 12 times, for a total of 60 arrows. 12x5=60. Understand?

Ok ... thanks mobowhuntr

I don't mean to be a pain in the ... you know
I understand the scoring system now, as soon as I get my targets I'll post my scratch / rough score so you guys can figure out the average and handicap.

I asked this in a different thread that seems to be gone now and I never saw the answer. What is a guy is going to be on vacation for a week? Can he enter 2 score cards in one week? Could he shoot all 10 rounds (if that is how many we are doing) in like 5 or 6 weeks and enter them all at one time? Basically I don't think I will get shooting EVERY week but I would like to do this. Thanks for the help.

I'll check w/ Rick as well, but in a league you are expected to shoot every week....I think an exception can be made for 1 week if a guy is gonna be gone, but no, you can't shoot 8 weeks in 4.......

If someone has a concern like this please PM Mobo or myself and I am sure we can work something out. I don't have an immediate concern with a 1 week score shot during another week, but let us know BEFORE the week off.

I don't want to set anything in stone here as it can be a slippery slope but lets do our best to stick with the 8 week format.

8. Handicap system works as follows:

First 2 weeks will be used to turn in scores that will be averaged together to come up with an average for handicap purposes. DON'T SANDBAG!! This average of the first 2 scores will be your "scratch" score.

Example of how handicap works:

Shooters scratch score = 281
300 - 281 = 19 points
80% X 19 = 15.2 (round off to 15)
281 scratch score + 15 = 296

This shooters score after figuring this 80% handicap is 296.

We always round off the decimal places. If it is .5 or higher it goes to the next higher number. If .4 or lower, round off to the next lower number.

After league is finished, any ties will be broke using total X count figure with no handicap applied for the entire 8 week league.
Quick question on this handicap system- based on the example scratch scores above, the average is 281. Subtracted from 300, you get the 19 points. 80% of 19 after rounding is 15. Is the handicap for this shooter 15 for the duration of the league? Does this mean that 15 is added to each week's true score? I guess I'm confused when you add the 15 back to the 281 average to get 296. Is this 296 score (scratch score plus handicap)ever used again during the league or just the 15?

Thanks-
Paul
