Out of 490 entrants we only taged 126 bucks. How does this compare to your local area. About 1 in 4 scored, I would say it is a bit low for the poeple that actually get out and hunt here.

25 % success rate as bowhunters taking bucks. That's probably very high for my state. Isn't bowhunting usually around 13% success?

That is exactly what I was thinking. I thought that 25% taking bucks was really good.

There are poeple around here that claim they bowhunt, maybe 2 or 3 sits a year. They dont want to use that 1 and only buck tag with archery or whatever reason. Then there are the poeple that really bowhunt. Now the first group I would say it is 1 in 10. The second I would say 1 out of 2.

Wisconsin has a success rate of about 20% for bow hunters, bucks and does.

I wonder how many guys passed on questionable bucks because of the contest?? Im sure most guys wouldnt change anything regardless of the contest or not, but do you think the contest possibly persuaded guys into letting a few bucks walk?

I'm not sure about that, but I know that the contest doesn't cause me to change my goals. Anyone else?

If anything it helps manage a bit huh. Greg out of that 20% how hard do some hhunt? We have that all season tag now and guys are going out 1 or 2 times a year. I really dont factor those hunters in.
