Don't replace me fellas.....been out of town for the last week celebrating my wedding anniversary. I don't post much, but I can guarantee you guys that I'm giving this contest all I got. Not much to report just yet. Did some scouting last week.....Buck season just came in this last Saturday while I was out of town. My wife and I set our wedding date for Sept 30th....so it would come right at the start of archery season. That way when I'm out buying some fresh doe in rut urine, I'm reminded to get something for her. LOL Anyways....hope to get out a couple evenings this week after work. I will be hunting all day Saturday for sure....looks like its going to be a warm one. Supposed to be in the 80's all week. I will post more when I have updates....but rest assured I'm out there giving it my best. Good luck in the field fellas.

Doe number 2 on the dirt fellas!! Got in the stand at 5:20 this afternoon and shot her at 5:32!! Now that's fast!! Time for some horns now!!

I always say that I'm gonna hold out for horns after I get one or two does on the dirt but it's so hard to pass on a mature doe if she's right there in front of me!!!

Today I saw the first deer of the season (for me). I was sitting besides a tree, when a doe came to my right. The doe saw me lift my bow, andstated the whole foot stomping head nodding thing, anyhow the deer was spooked and was getting ready to walk into some thickbrush.Thats when I decided to shoot. The doe was in between two trees broadside.If I missed,I would hit a tree and the deer would not be wounded.I pulled my bow back, putthe 40 yard pin on it vitals, made a little "blat" soundand fired. My arrow flew right intoone of the trees6" to the left of the deer. My firstshot of the season and Imissed:(.Well, the season just started... I'll get that deer!:D

Tough luck Mike!! At least you got to sling an arrow at her! I'd rather miss clean than wound them ya know?!?! You'll get her. I didn't see a thing yesterday evening. It's gotten warm...again! I'm ready for some cooler weather!!

I'm glad that It was a clean miss to. I would rather miss the deer all together, then wound it and have it suffer. I'll get another shot at it!:D

Got warm here again too...High 80's. I'm sitting these next few days out..the deer are moving at night. Supposed to cool off next week.
BTW Mike, don't feel bad I misjudged distance on a small racked 8 pointer on Tues night and shot right underneath him...I was super disappointed. I really wanted to get our team on the board. Oh well, I know he or others will be back.

Yeah I'm sick of this warm weather. I'm still headed to the woods though. I kill myself wondering what might be by my stand if I'm sitting on the couch!!

hey fellas how its been going congrats to the ones that harvested, I will make it to the woods this weekend and may eventually get to post about my opening week - took a few deer - been trapped at work and dealing with issues with dad for awhile but may make it out finally - sucks it so hot - been seeing any this week

Dad Had to have some x-rays to see if the radition had an impact - he took 39 traetments of radition and suppose to get an x-ray this week, pray that it will be good news

I think that is why I hammered the does- not sure what the rest of the season will bring, I will be heading to the woods this afternoon and most of tomorrow- good luck to you guys

I posted pics and the story in the main BH forum, also an encounter with some bears as well - been a while since I hit the woods so looking forward to it

I'll keep you and your's in my prayers. I'm glad to hear you're able to get in the woods at least a little bit. I've been able to put 2 slick heads on the dirt so far. I passed on a young doe and a 6 pointer last night. I've seen the 6 on several different occassions...he's just too young. Good to hear from you Frank! Whack Em and Track Em!!

Well fellas,I put down a 105lb doe at 7:25 this morning. 15yd shot...spitfires took out both lungs. She made it about 60 yds before expiring. Nice to finally have some venison for the freezer. Will post pics later on. Gonna head out for an afternoon/evening stand and try for a buck. How'd everyone else make out?

If you could, take a picture of the entry/exit hole thattheSpitfire made. I'm curious to seewhat damage these heads inflict on deer.:D

I have a picture of the entrance...sorry no exit pic. I personally don't really care about all the hype with the entrance and exit wounds...I know that those heads kill deer so I don't fix what isn't broke. They don't leave a big hole like the Rage's but still leave a massive blood trail with an ethical shot.
