Welcome Barth! Evening hunt was exciting! Had 10 different does around the stand at one point or another. 2 little scrub racked bucks, a forkhorn and a spike. One fat doe almost met the business end of my spitfire mechanicals....I just neededher to take about 5 steps to the left....she heard a branch fall and darted away taking the spike with her. I NEED to kill a doe so i can hunt the property's that are holding the big bucks!!! Damn NJ Earn-a-Buck early season crap. Oh well, maybe Monday evening.
Do you like the NAP Spitfire broadheads? I usually use Wasp broadheads, but this year I wanted to try a mechanical head. They are suppose to fly like field points. Do they???
Absolutely love them!!! I shot a doe last year that quartered towards me at the last second and that broadhead BLASTED through her shoulder, took out both lungs and dropped her within 10 yds. I was able to replace the blades and still use it this year. They are reasonably priced, fly as true as your field points, and you can get practice blades for around $10.
Give em' a shot

Hey guys. Well yesterday's evening hunt was nothing exciting. I had one young spike buck come in about 25-30 minutes before dark. He was a young thing, definitely this year's crop. There was no way I was going to shoot him, especially after seeing that nice 8 earlier in the morning. I was hoping a big ol fat doe was going to come in but I didn't see a doe all day yesterday. Maybe tomorrow afternoon will work out since I can't hunt on Sunday's here [:@][:@].

I didn't think that Spitfire broadheads could go through bone. Thatsgood to know. I hope I get a chance to use them on some deer soon.

Can't wait for the season to start. Going to be doing some scouting this weekend. Time to see if the funnels that I hunt are getting any traffic.
