FRALEY get a tag for second shotgun season and you are more than welcome to come on down and hunt with our group. Heck you can shoot one of our bigguns if you want to but yer still gonna have to help us fill some doe tags also. Just let me know and I will give you the info you need. I don't know if western Iowa is ready for someone like FRALEY though. LOL I think a shotgun tag may run you around $300 plus yer out of state hunting license. Sounds a little steep for shooting a doe doesn't it.

Do they sell the extra doe tags cheaper after you buy the regular one?

Well fellas the first shotgun season ended yesterday and a group from just up the road killed 77 deer. Only one good buck was taken, they had him green scored at 180 1/2". He was taken out by the Missouri River and I never have hunted that area. Maybe I should rethink that one!! My buddy said they did shoot some other bucks but they were all young ones, [:@]never can understand why they would want to shoot a young buck with a gun. Most of the kills were does though from what he said. Maybe that will help curve that blue tongue a little. Well it is off too work for me Later fellas.

FRALEY I am not exactly sure about that. I know that they do offer somewhere around 900 extra doe tags for the county/zone I live in but this year they were sold out be 4 I ever knew how many there were. Go check out IADNR.com and all the information you will need should be there.

It is called deer season, not antler season. Everyones not a trophy or horn hunter. Could be the only deer they saw, first time hunters, last day of the season, young hunters, etc. There are a lot of reasons to shoot deer, any deer.

WOW did it snow here yesterday. We got 6" of the white stuff and our secondary roads are total crap. I don't believe the snow was the problem it was the high winds that came with it[:@]. It blew all morning long and when the snow quit then the wind did also. Gonna get another blast Saturday they are saying it is gonna be a little more than we got yesterday. Sure should make shotgun season interesting. At least we will be able to track a wounded one pretty easily. I feel for ya nubo with all the snow you have been getting. I will be out and about all weekend with my shotgun but I will check in from time to time to give ya all updates.

Well it finally quit snowing here and the bank's are about 6feet high ,but regardless I'm going to get out tomorrow and see if I can take down a buck .I've been seeing deer on the road's at night coming home from work at 11:30pm and in the afternoon heading to work at 3:30pm ,so the deer are moving .

I bet yer deer are starving nubo gotta be tough to find food under that much snow. Has to make you feel bad for them. Hopefully you guys have lots of food sources. Well shotgun season started today and am getting my son fired up so we can leave here soon. Wish us luck fellas my son is pretty excited about his first official deerhunt with his old man. Heck his old man is pretty darn excited about it also. Been waiting for this day for 14 years. Even though he did kill his 1st turkey when he was 9 y.o.
