Well I went out this morning climbing into my treestand an hour before day break . Last night i seen 4 buck's 3 doe's and 2 fawn's 10 turkey's and a flock of Teal.[ducks] tThis morning the wind's were pretty high and not 1 deer came out of the wood's to visit me . I changed location's and seen 1 deer ,not sure if it was a buck or a doe because it was heading back into the wood's on my arrival , i also heard 1 take off through the hardwood's. I'll be going back out in the morning and taking my son out of his morning class's to participate with me . Hopefully the wind die's down and just maybe I'll see a deer in the morn .

I saw 17 deer on saturday morning before work. I passed on a nice 125-130 in. ten point the first 10 min. of daylight. I had him at 12 yards and I just couldnt shoot him. I saw alot of good sized does and some smaller bucks. My buddy saw another nice 10 yesterday and couldnt get a shot. Im just waitin for somethin a lil bigger this early in the game. Hopefully it doesnt haunt me.

I hope it doesn't either Steve ,I know I've done the same thing and ended the season with a big fat 0" But it sound's as though you may have a lot of good deer to choose from ,so go get him and get us on the map.Good luck to you steve.

What? are you crazy? Send that 10 pointer over my way. Most of the bucks up here in the "Big Woods" are nocturnal. They won't make any mistakes until November. The acorns are good this year and the deer are real spread out and feeding heavily at night (esp. with this full moon) We'll good luck getting a bigger one. We're behind you Stevez

Man I saw a good one, a 3.5 y.o.last night and a 1.5 y.o. I was on my way home from work around 7:30 and there they were about a mile north of my house. The bigger one would go 150" easy. Not a monster for Iowa but just a good solid 10 pointer. I will tell you this much, if I get a chance at him I am gonna take it. As for you stevez you don't need to worry about what we think about passing on a good buck because you have to shoot a deer that you want and not one that to just get us some points on the board. Yes points early would be great but some people only get to shoot one buck during bow season like me so you have to be picky. I never told you guys but three years ago during shotgun season a friend of mine shot a 186" buck about a 1/2 mile from my house. We have lots of good deer running around this neck of the woods and it seems to me the buck to doe ratio is really high right now so hopefully one of those big dudes will traipse by me when I am in my stand Saturday morning. Well later fellas and good luck to all.
