First of all, Congrats to Jim on a dandy buck. Team 1 is starting to come into our own!!! :D

And thanks for the well-wishes on my buck everyone. The footage is amazing, unfortunatelymy shot placement wasn't. I hit him a little far back and thankfully caught enough of the liver to kill him relatively quickly. We let him lay overnight and found him not 200 yards from where I shot him. To say I was relieved is beyond the understatement of the year. I literally almost came to tears when we found him since I was so upset for making a bad shot. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, and right back again all in the matter of a few hours. It's amazing how bowhunting will do that to you.

In the end it all worked out for the best, and I couldn't be happier. Good luck to everyone else who is still out hunting, the best time of the year is still yet to come!

RE: 1-Offical Team No Name Thread

BBD for wvOHIOfan!!

Well, he's not as big as some bucks that I've taken and to be quite honest, he fooled me a little and I misjudged him. However, he's a beautiful 2 1/2 year old. He has a really nice frame with long main beams but hes really thin and his tine length is weak. He nets a shade over 100. I would have let this buck walk 9 out of 10 times but I rattled him in just after daylight yesterday and he came in with the hair standing straight up on his back and his ears pinned back. He walked up to 12 yards and I just couldnt resist. I'm not sure exactly how to enter him for our team but I've scored him and I have all of the measurments. They go as follows:

Right side Left side Deductions

Main beam - 19 Main beam - 18 6/8 2/8
brow- 3 brow-3 2/8 2/8
g2-4 g2-4 2/82/8
g3-5 6/8 g3-5 6/8
g4- g4-2 2
c1-3 2/8 c1-3 2/8 -
c2-3c2-3 1/8 1/8
c3-3 2/8 c3-3 2/8
c4-3 c4-3 -

total- 44 total- 44 3/8 3 7/8

Inside spread - 15
Gross - 104 3/8
Net- 100 4/8

Nice job!!! Who cares about the score, as long as you're happy that's all that really matters.

Post the same thing you did here (measurements and photos) in the Official Score Card thread and Rob will take care of entering him for our team.

Congrats again! Team 1 is starting to kick some serious whitetail butt!

Team 1 is on a roll. Just got home from Blanco Texas. Got a real nice ten Saturday morning. Entered him on the official entry page. 120 6/8, not as high a score as I hoped for, but he presented his self at 20 yds broad side and I took the shot. The Carbon Express loaded with a 100 gr.Teken hit in the boiler room. The buck went 16 yards and crashed. Pictures are not that good took them off the video camera. I will have some 35mm pics in a day or two.

Sunday morning I set up in another blind and wouldn't you know I would have an oppertunity at even a bigger buck. a main frame 10 with two 3-4 inch kickers. I let him walk and damn if a gun hunter shoot him an hour later. I have a lot of time left to hunt. So I will be still trying to getthat 140+.

We are in the lead lets keep it that way. Great job team!

RE: 1-Offical Team No Name Thread

Well Captain whats the word? Get that 200+ inch buck yet ? lol Were up to 6 in the cheering section now.

Way to go guys! I've been busy guiding elk hunts and going to college the last 30 days. Bucks are starting to chase pretty hard. Gun season comes in Saturday, so hopefully I can get a bowkill later this week. Its been awhile since I've ate a KY tag...[&:]I need to really bear down this month. Good luck guys and congrats to all of you guys that have scored!

Stay after it. Your chance will come. I am always bummed out the month of October, because the place I hunt the most with the quality bucks is only the month of November. I lost that big 8at mid Oct. that really got me down, sostay in the woods! We said we had a great team from the start and we have proved it. The team with "No Name" is hot! We need to keep that hot streak going. Here is a 2 and half year old 8 I took some video of this past Saturday. He is going to be a nice deer in two more years.

Sid, thats gona be a heck of a buck in a couple years! Great potential. I meant to tell you, I was in Bandur, South Africa a couple weeks ago working on a new concession. Theres 2 Nyala bulls on it that I might just write a check for! :D

sid828 11-05-2007 04:22 PM

RE: 1-Offical Team No Name Thread

PSE do they have any Waterbuck bulls as good as yours? I might just write a check for one! Did you hunt any while you were there? Man that SA hunting gets in your blood. My hunt was as free range as it gets. A lot of people think that it is a canned hunt. That is not true! I was on a 70,000 acre Askari and all open mountain range. You must have a exciting career, you guide Elk hunts and fly off to SA. What a deal! I would like to go on an Elk bow hunt sometime, you need to hook me up.

Here is a pic of my wife and cheeke the Jack Russell, best Nyala dog in Africa.

RE: 1-Offical Team No Name Thread

I guide hunts in eastern KY at Elk Country Outfitters for the lucky few that get drawn for tags. Its a little to dry for good waterbuck bulls on the concession, but has good wildebeest bulls and some world class nyala. I didnt hunt, just helped manage some business at the new lodge.
