RE: 10 - Official Team Germ Warfare Thread
just got back from the afternoon hunt. POURING rain, i got soaked but went out anyway just cuz i had that feeling. sure enough, when it was raining so hard i couldnt see over 60 yards or so, three does make their way down the trail. cross by about 15-20 yards upwind of stand. one of them looked straight up at me, bobble headed for about 5 minutes but never spooked. they passed on.i would have shot the doe (other two were fawns that lost their spots), but it was rainin so hard i figured i would loose the blood trail almost immediately so didnt want to loose the doe and passed the chip shot.
besides these three i saw 8-10 turkey and a couple deer sized fox squirrels:D dentist tomorow, headin back out in the rain on wednesday |

Go put a dead fish in their blind GR8!!! Maybetheywill push the deer to you. Its been in the 80s here also, sux.
Been seeing lots of Does, saw 14 yesterday, zero bucks. Things will cool down this week, things will pick upfor all of us, not to worry. |

cooler today..hope the rains quits.
May forego the tree and do some still hunting (in season scouting) I need to get acrossed this swampy area and see where the, other half ofdeer, are coming from. Itwill mean coming in from the entire different direction.. It's an untapped area (for me). I need a good ambush site for this weekend..contemplating an all day sit at least one of the days. |

Couple ofdoes out of range this morning. I was watching the radar loop on my phone and by ten it looked like a soaking was in order. About then the wind really picked up sogot down and did some quickscouting before the down poor and locateda beauty of a spot. Prolly the best pinch point I've ever seen on a map that looked just as good if not better in person. We should see good deer movement tomorrow after this system passes by.

drove the thirty minute drive to my hunting spot (creek bottoms), get down to the bottom field and it is now considered a bottom lake. no way to get across it to the woods i hunt without chest waders. atleast a couple feet deep. not to mention that once i got there the actual woods themselves are about two feet deep. i am TICKED, cuz now im outta there for atleast 4 + days till it all drains. rained nonstop for the third day today dont look like itll let up tomorow either. already at 6 inches in the past three days, so says my friend who has a rain gauge. idk about the accuracy.
ill load up pics of my honey hole deer spot now turned honey hole duck spot lol. |
