Are any of you guys able to trade up some weekends for any of our team to travel and hunt in your state? I am able to do this but, lodging is up to you if you have a camper, good enough!

I am not able to travel much right now due tohaving a newborn at home and with time. But if anyone is up for the travel and oppertunity my door is open for each of you.Although as you know the deer are not that big here but are pretty plentifull, I did pick up a 40ac. lot this season that is a nursery that is over ran with large deer so hopefully I will be able to put somehting up on the board for us this season....

Just checking in, I was in AZ for the last 2 weeks. Im James and ill be hunting in Western, NY. Im only 14 so i hope i will get something my first year. Will be busy with football for the first week but ill be out as much as possible.

im mad because in NY u have to be with an adult to hunt with a bow so my stand time will be limited to like10 hours a week and with a short 5 week season. My dad does not hunt and in NY u have to have a bow lisence to supervise a minor. My uncle hunts with a bow but will not sacrifice a his stand time for mine. Post sum trail cam pics if u have any.

just picked up a trail cam this evening, cant wait to get it in the woods...I have been i the house with it set up in the great room and walking bye just to see how it works both with the lights off and on...(LOL)

just wondering what trail cams you guys are using. i pickeda moultrie 2.1last year and it got a few nice buck last year. i was out at the hunting spot tonight and saw two nice ones 8 or 10 pointers. i got a little video of them but they were pretty far away. if i can clean it up maybe i'll post some pictures from it.

i got this wildview steath thing that ill set up tommorow. i guess it 3.0mp but the trigger speed is so slow. im borowing it from my uncle who im going to have to chop wood with so he will hunt with me.

I am headed down to Jackson Co. Mi. Labor Day weekend and thanks to FowlBuck, I am going to have to go to Walmart!!:D This should be my last free weekend until season starts but, am scheduling a 7 day outing in November.

it looks ok to me its just when you resize things looks smaller lets see how it grows on us a while i know Fowl Buck ordered a shirt from elkslayer already so i don't think we should change it now. however i sure hope your birthday is going well and you get that stuff you were asking for.

u know what i dont know how to score a deer. I know it is in inches but what do i measure? Sum1 please explain or link an article or both thx.

We will be using the P&Y (pope and young) scoring system, I have never done it either but it seems pretty straight foward and HOPEFULLY will get to use it this year.. http://www.pope-young.org/ScoreSheets/T-WTC.pdf

mwbowhunter- you have to right click on the avatar and save it into your computer files, I save mine into kodak photos. Once you have it saved, go onto your Huntingnet profile and click upload picture and browse your avatar. Once that is done click on Install on your profile page........

Well good luck this season everybody, I hung my stand today, looks pretty promising...ended up running into 2 big does. so there are deer in the area. and if they get within 30 yards of my stand in any direction I should be able to nail em.

just shot my block 4x4 off the pool deck and they were all high. But i guess i have to re adjustthe sight for tree stand. I started out at about 20 yards and moved to 30 yards and it was still high in about a 4in grp. im happy with my shooting if they were hittting lower they would all been in the circle.

ladder stand isthe perfect tree stand to start off with its easy to get in and out of. the block 4x4 is also a good beginner target . seems like you haveit together good luck this year!

Put out my camlast night and this evening I only had 3 pics on there. One single doe that showed up at 8:18, 8:19, and 8:20 this morning. I know there are a few bucks behind the house one that includes a nice 8. I might go behind the house maybe one morning a week for about an hour or so. Other then that I will be hunting the 40acre nursery I picked up a few weeks ago that the people just want the deer GONE....They are getting permits for damage beings they have had over $10,000 in plants, flowers, trees, etc...Cant wait to get out but my season does not start until middle of Oct....
