No luck in KY this weekend. Thought the little cool down we had would have them up and running but I was wrong. Did walk 1/8 miof creek on the property I hunted and found 8 dead from EHD. 7 doe and 1 nice 100" 2/1/2 year old 8 pointer. Hope it frost soon and kills those little gnats.

Well it is decision time---- Your suggestions would be appreciated.

I have 2 hunting options for next monday for the Illinois opener. Which would you hunt next monday?

1. Public land open to all- Hunted it many times and really know the area well.Ton's of huge bucks and doe's. Only able to shoot doe for the month of October though.

2. Public land only open to limited number of hunters. Have never scouted land and have no information other then maps. But can hunt bucks. Heard from many people that this land is just filled with great bucks.

if you're meat hunting or just want to shoot a doe, go to the area you know so well

if you're wanting more sport involving antlers, go to the second spot

enjoy whichever you choose though - it aint about the antlers you know

Well I am definetly not opposed to taking doe to fill the freezer. However, it would be nice to get my buck and add to our team score should I have the opportunity. If I hunt the property that I know I am unable to do that even if the shot presents itself until November 1st.

If you want the meat go for the one you know BUT I always like seeing new ground to increase my options-you have to scout sometime & the Buck is available if you see him Aas are the Does. I would go for the new spot. Good Luck.
