Bpbowhunter checking in. Glad to be on the team, lookingforward to getting to know everyone on the team. Mdbowhunter16 if you want to beour captain that's fine with me. Just a little about me I hunt mainly Central Pennsylvania, I'm very lucky and have some quality land to hunt on. I do like to hunt the big woods of our northern counties but the hunting is much harder and the deer there are far and few between. I love to bow hunt and just be in the great outdoors. Good luck to everyone on the team.

So does anyone have any trail cam pics of the buck or bucks they will be after this year? I just set out my trail cam for the first time in a while. I will see if I have any good pics in a few days. Post em if you guys have em!:D

RE: 24-Official Team 24 Thread

I also will be putting out some trail cams, just have not been able to get them up yet[:@]. I'm hoping tomorrow, if not I should be able to early next week.
Our season in PA starts Sept. 29th, and I have been doing a little scouting late in the evenings and saw two respectable bucks on the propperty I hunt. Hopefully I will be able to get some pictures of them, and if I'm lucky enoughI hopefully will fill my buck tag on one of them. [8D]

RE: 24-Official Team 24 Thread

Here's a deer from last year that I think made it thru the season. I will be checking the cam in a couple days to see what other bucks are around. This is one of the only trail cam pics I have left on my computer. But BTW that was one of many bucks around that size so I should have a couple decent ones in the woods this year. Just gotta drop one!

I have several properties here in So MD to hunt that have nice deer on them. I checked outa fewfarms late yesterday evening (just mediocre bucks - but I have some very nice sheds from last spring, so they should be around...). When I came back home I had 10 does/fawns in & just off my driveway; buck bait for the rut, lol.

Here is an image that could work as an avitar along the 24/7 theme:

The 24/7 theme seems pretty cool. Maybe would could take that design and add team 24/7 to it in some cool letters or something. Just throwing out some ideas.

RE: 24-Official Team 24 Thread

How would you guys like this for a Team avatar, if we went with the 24/7 theme?(Its an old shirt logo) It might not be to clear but let me know what you guys or gals think.

fshafly2 08-12-2007 07:08 PM

RE: 24-Official Team 24 Thread

Something along that line could work, but it would be nice toget rid of the gun and other non bowhuning paraphenalia, imo.

In the meantime, how about youpm'ing the missing members? It's probably a good idea to weed out any no-shows as early as possible.

RE: 24-Official Team 24 Thread

I also agree the 24/7 theme is a cool idea.

MD your design is headed in the right direction, but I agree with fshaflys that it would be good if you could remove the rifle and other non bowhunting items.

Just my thoughts.

I tried PMing some of our team mates but most of them have their profiles set to not receive PMs. I dont know what to do about this, but I guess if they do not check in within a week or two we should contact a moderator to change them out with an alternate.... I couldn't do much more to the picture but crop out the rifle as best as I could. And I added the word team about 24/7...I tried haha.

AK NIMROD CHECKING IN !!!
Sorry to check in late i thought the selection for teams was not until 1 sept. must have mis read info. i'm tickled to be party of the team. sounds fine to me for MD to be team captain. i have a big season planned.
i'm 58 yrs old, live and work in Alaska, took my first two WT last year with my bow. lot of time spent trying to break the ice. Jan. i was on an antlerless hunt i SD and shot a little button buck.....no head gear showing. [:@]then i hunted late season Colo. eastern plains skunked and then SE OKLA. arrowed a hen turkey about day5, morning and next afternoon shot a very nice 14 point buck.main frame 10. I have taken fair amount of Alaska game 3 moose, 4 black bear, 2 caribou and 10-12 blacktail sitka deer with bow plus few others with smoking stick.
i hunt with both recurve and compound...black widow and mathews
prefer recurve and will useit the most this fall.
i work 2 weeks on and two weeks off. well with vacation i'm off 6 weeks work 2 then another 6 off.:Dlots of play time!
get off in 3 days. in 6days i will start a 2 day drive to north slope haul road to bow hunt Caribou for 5 days then early sept will be driving to America. will hunt WT in Alberta 3-4 days then on to Colo. visit my daughter and then to SW Colo. to hunt up to 9 days for mule deer. then back fly to work 2 weeks. then to OK to medical meeting and then 2 weeks in WIS. then back to daughters in Denver then head NORTH TO ALASKA, stopping for 4-5 days in Alberta to hunt again...if i did not fill my tag the first trip.
long winded run down of saying i have a good chance of getting a good animal. first hunt in alberta will be just for big one. because i will hit early rut the second trip.
happy to be part of the team. LETS WIN THIS THING !
Pat McCabe

I am hear... Sorry I don't know how to "check in". So please let me know.. Unless this is considered "checking in" then i'm in. I have approxmatley ten solid spots this year with a planned trip to Macoupan County IL and Pope County IL. Both of which are known for producing big boys. Anyway I am very optomistic for this sesaon and will be taking video of almost all my hunts. Please let me know if there is anything else you need or would like from me.

WELCOME GUYS
SOUNDS LIKE WE ARE SHAPING UP WITH LOTS OF GOOD OPTIONS.
24/7 IS FINE WITH ME
HERE IN ALASKA WE CAN HUNT 24 HRS A DAY NO SHOOTING HOURS LIKE MOST PLACES. JUST NO ARTIFICIAL LIGHT.
CARIBOU OPENED 15 JUL BUT DOES NOT MATTER FOR THE CONTEST.I THINK DEER SEASON HERE IN ALASKA OPENED 1 AUG BUT I WON'T BE HUNTING DEER THIS YEAR IN ALASKA. ALBERTA ? NOT SURE WHEN IT OPENS BUT IT WILL BE OPEN WHEN I'M TRAVELING THRU.COLORADO TAG STARTS LAST WEEK OF AUG. BUT I WILL START THERE 15 SEPT.

Just wanted to say welcome to everyone on the team. I think we have a great group and it should be really exciting. I really think we have a great shot at winning this thing:D. Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming seasonhere in PA,our early Fall seasonstarts Sept. 29th and runs through Nov. 10th. Ihave vacation planned for the week ofNovember 5th through the 10th. I can't wait, am planning on hunting everyday.

I look forward togetting to know everybody on the team. I am 41 and have been hunting since I'm 12. Really got into archery seriously about 10 years ago and have really been hooked on it ever since. I love the tradition of our rifle season here in PA, but archery is my passion. If I could only do one it would be archery. I have a wife and three children, a son (15),another son (11) and our daughter (9). To say life is busy is an understatment soccer, baseball, football, golf, piano lessons and ballet is just thebegining[8D], but I wouldn't trade it for the world. They all are very understanding when it comes to hunting season, and I really think my true hunting partner will be my daughter in a couple of years.

Anyways just wanted to again say welcome and lets have some fun.

Brian

fshafly2- you are welcome
got the avatar changed finally
i was just wondering if nobody minded could our captain put state /prov. where each of us are located on first entry where it shows our team and that we have checked in. a few of us its in the name but just a quick reference.
how many of you hunt where tracking dogs are legal if they are....and you don't have one. check out united blood trackers site and see if there is one close by.it will have list of state regs. find out before you hunt so if you need one you know who to call.better to call them early than late. less than 1/2 the states allow it but it is a real plus if you need it. if not in your state might be worth trying to get it legalized. PA was trying but i think it failed....not sure.

Here is my incentive challenge: we will have a drawing from names from allteam members killing a 125 & over bucks and if i don't get a125 any buck bigger than minetakenby a 24/7 team memberthatare entered in the 2007 contest (so you might hold out to get a big one)winner gets an invite for either springblack bearbowhunt or summer fishing trip (halibut, salmon and bowfishing for pike)from me.
now i ain't paying for your trip.[:@] you get air fare and lic. yourself then we split fuel and food cost. YOU WILL NOT NEED RENTAL CAR OR HOTEL.1 week for either bear or fishing.Thebear hunt would include halibut fishing and probably more fresh caught shrimp than you can eat.:D i will either haveROB draw the winner or maybe even someone from forum that i'm moderator of "sage creek forum".
score will be score for contest with equalizing factor, since i might get a mule deer. (so 125 or better.)
HOW IS THAT FOR INCENTIVE? :-)

Good idea, and include the states/provinces where you'll be hunting. I'll be easy, hunting just in MD.

AK, I bought John Jeanneney's book Tracking Dogs for Finding Wounded Deer last year. Tracking dogs are legal here in MD, and I am just a few years away from owning one (two?). I am a volunteer tracker on the local Navy Base here in MD, andplan to get eithera wirehair or long-hair dachshund(s). I had my brother down on my farm last January, and we had his twolong-hairsfollow ablind trail (made with the foreleg of a doe) after a 45min training session. (me, my brother, nephew, and The Boss):
(ps: 70 degrees that January day, ah the warm sunny south...lol)

Ilike your style! When I was up in Homer,I was on a charter andthe weather keptus from going out very far; all I caught were chicken halibut.
Thanks for the offer!

BTW, there areNO big deer here in So MD, so you other teammates are safe from competition from me...
