Only got out for an hour today because my grandpap broke his hip getting ready to go hunting, so most of my day was helping him out and heading to the hospital with him. Since it was only for an hour i grabbed the rifle and posted along a deer drive they were doing in a cornfield. Saw one doe haulin' it htrough the field and it sounded like a warzone once the drivers saw her, they fired atleast 15 shots and never hit her. I sat there in awe at how much lead they flung at her, i felt that she is one lucky deer. That doe was the only deer they pushed out of the field. Hoping to go out tomorrow with the bow after school to hopefully to get a deer so i can show my grandpap and cheer him up.

my grandpap got out of surgery around 3:45pm. He should be coming home on saturday, he will probably still wanna go out hunting the saturday after that
. He is 85 and still loves to hunt even though he hasn't shot a deer in 7-8 years and has trouble walking. He will sit in his truck out in the fields and watch the deer and wait for me to let him know that i got one. Hunting doesn't seem the same when he can't make it out to see what i get.

Good to hear he's doing better Crazed. I agree with you about hunting not being the same if Gramps isn't there. I lost my Grandpa about a year ago, and things are definately different in regards to hunting. Spend as much time with him as you can, make somemore good memories, and take it all in. Good luck!

after all that is what it all about.
