Happy thanksgiving everyone! Bear hunting turned out to be a bust. Gonna re-hang my stand on saturday where i saw that 8 with the kicker and drop tine for monday, which is opening day! WOOOOHOOOOBe safe and good hunting everyone. We're in 9th place right now and down 255", we can get to 1st with 2 decent sized bucks. The buck that i am after will score around 140" so i hope i get him for the team

LOL dude, we have 309" and I counted that we were in 15th or 16th...your down more my friend.....good luck Monday. I assume your taking your bow for rifle opener?

I was able to make it out yesterday morning and evening. 2 different times I had a shooter buck within 30 yards, but couldn't shoot as there was too much brush & limbs in the way. This is the last weekend before rifle season opens in KS. Bowhunting after rifle season is normally pretty tough, so I really hope that this weekend I can pull through.

I also saw another glimpse of the double-droptine buck. So he's still around the area.

Rob, i was refering to that we are down 255" from first place. We have 388 6/8" right now.

Yes we are up toward the top, not to bad for 43 teams (i think thats right) :DMan you guys are making me want to get back out, but i hate buying a doe tag for $25.00 and i really dont need any more meat. Joey your gonna connect soon, i can feel it. crazed hope you see that buck again. good luck to everyone still hunting ;)I almost went out this evening just to sit and watch but ended up baby sitting [:o]

My arms are tired from swinging for the fences. So far I have seen a few but not many. I have taken my son rifle hunting this weekend but hoping to be back next weekend.

well guys, wish me luck. tomorrow is the start of the general deer season allowing me to hunt that buck again;)I will update tomorrow when i get back from my hunt, will probably stay out all day considering i will be along the only standing corn in the area so most of the deer will be running for me to escape the orange army:DGood luck everyone!

I went out on public ground near my house. I was hunting an island with a slough on one side and the river on the other. We took the canoes to get to the spot which made getting to our spot a lot less farther of a walk and a bit more quieter. Well Wednesday morning I saw 2 does, and thursday morning i saw 3 does, but they never came close enough. Well friday night i decided to take my Dad and his buddy out to the spot where i seen all the does because neither one has shot one this year yet, so i figured i would be their guide. I get about 100yrds from my spot and see a guy hunting a tree prolly only 5 yrds from the tree i was hunting in the past 2 days. So i was pretty upset, but we moved on. Well the more we walked the more we bumped into people. I think i saw 7 people and all of them were bowhunting. I had never seen anything like this before out there. So we made what we could of it, but none of us saw anything. The high hopes i had were kinda busted. My dad did say he heard one snorting when another guy walked out of the woods just before dark, but that was it. I prolly wont be back at it til winter break.

Unfortunately, No deer for me over the weekend. Another cat & mouse weekend. The only deer we saw were next to our other stands, 200 yards away. I think I need to start flipping a coin to choose stands for now on I'll be putting the bow down for a couple of weeks, for the rifle hunters, but will be back to bowhunting in mid December. Normally it's really tough to bowhunt after the rifle hunter deer drive, as they stir everything up really good. Luckily my best spot doesn't allow any rifle hunting, so it creates a santuary for the late season. So I still feel good.

Well guys, i got slow today soi left. All of the orange army left the woods i was taking advantage of by 10am because of it pouring down raining.[&o] Passed on 2 forkers, and a 6 point, and numerous does. Have school off tomorrow so i will be back at it tomorrow and hopefully will see the big buck i have been after.Might have to pick up the rifleand the bow to take with me tomorrow because there were a good many deer passing out of range that would have "bit the mud" had they come close enough.
