I shot a Hoyt bow some time ago, a Hoyt Osia. I was hunting with it on a booked Outfitter in Il. My guide was a great guy that did not have alot of money and said he was in need of a new bow. I told him if I get a nice buck I would give him my Hoyt. I shot a nice 10point and when I put that $600 tricked out Hoyt in his hands you should have seen the look on his face

I had shot Hoyt for many years. My last Hoyt was a Vipertec if I remember correctly. Now I tend to prefer the Diamond/Bowtech offerings for hunting and 3D shooting.

I went to the archery shop to trade off my 15 year old hoyt for a new one, and walked out with an Outback. This year i upgraded to the drenalin, but have yet to take a deer with it.

Well, i haven't been out much, but am finally getting settled into my new place. One good thing is that there are tracks in the hay field like you wouldn't believe. i put some corn out back last night and will put up my camera to see if there are any boys around worth pursuing. it is the same property that i had the other pictures from earlier in the season and i didn't hear of to many going down to the boys in blaze. i'll keep you all posted.

Well, the corn pile is getting hit pretty hard. I can dump out a couple gallons of shelled corn and it will be gone the next day. all i have seen on the pile is squirrels though. I got the cam out on sat morn and went i went to add corn on sunday it had taken a dozen pics. i will leave it till about wed then hopefully i will have some good pics to share. Also, i think i need to takea couple does off the land - when i came home sat night from town- about 7 - there had to be 20 deer in the 15 acre hay field.
good luck to all still out

Sat out this past weekend and last night was a blizzard, 50mph winds and a foot of snow. I sat on the ground and had 6 does come in and I tried stalking them for about an hour but they just stayed out of bow range. High winds and snow so hard you can't see 50 yards and they still out smarted me again!! I am remembering why I love hunting so much!! Walt

I love hunting in blizzard conditions. Its very rare to get a blizzard around here in my part of PA. It's allways so warm to snow. The last time I hunted in blizzard conditions I still hunted through a thicket and jumped a nice 12point N/T out of its bed and shot it dead with my slug gun. Thatwas on12-6-03! That was cool

Well, that's it here in MN. Season ended on the 31st and i never took a deer with the bow this year. I have plenty of meat from the rifle and muzzleloading hunts, but no success with the bow.

Good luck to all that still has time left.

hey team, sorry I havent posted in about a month and a half or so. Today was my last chance at bowhunting for the year. No buck, took 5 does this year though. I did find my buck I shot earlier this year the shot was very bad. When I drew back something caused me to release about 3/4 draw. The arrow hit the buck in the nose and followed the upper lip to the jaw and somehow lodged in the neck. It just missed the jugular and esophagous. Which explains why we tracked for over a mile in the first place. Ill post pics as soon as the euro mount is complete. Aged 2.5 and would have been possible 10 to 13 pt. Had a "plate" off the burr with 3 broken tines or nubs on it. Good luck to everyone who has time left. Better luck for me next year I hope.

Jake

Man jake that really sucks. Happens to the best of us. I found my doe about 3 or 4 miles from where i hit her with the "Rages" so nothing you can do really.

Sorry to say that my season to harvest a buck for the team is over[&o]Ipassed on alot of smaller bucks and did shoot a doe. The best chance I had on a shooter was the last day of PA archery when a 130 10point was 5 yards from my treestand and I could not get a shot [:@]I can still hunt doe til the end of the month so thats a good thing. It was a good year all in all. I shot a Doe, seen that nice 10point, bear, yotes and turkey . I had a great time talking to all you guys and it was fun!! Keep in touch, happy hunting and be safe!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
