-checking in, had a busy three days of hunting, saw two really nice bucks from afar both stuck on does, had one doe come right by... thats it..

-anyweapons season is finally over! Bucks will be chilling out somewhat here next week.... I am looking forward to getting back into the woods without all the pressure and rifle's going off..

-we picked up 8 inches of snow yesterday, today its 15 degrees warmer and raining cats and dogs.. lol messy around here..

No more bucks but unlimited does for IL.

Ive been fighting the gun hunters. Everything is so screwed up in the woods now. I dont think the deer know what their doing. The good thing the gun season is over and we have a week off. Next is bow and muzzleloader starting this saturday. I'll be out again. Hopefully with better results...

Right on Arrow, glad to hear your still getting after it! Get one!

I've decided that over Christmas / New Year's (the rut) I will primarily be bowhunting. Since it will
be 2 weeks after the birth, I should be able to get some quality hunts in.

A couple reasons for sticking with the string:

(1) the ##%* challenge and my own goals.

(2) I'm done with does with my rifle, but will be thrilled to take one with my bow.

(3) Got some spots in the woods where rifle range is only 75 yards or so anyway.

Although I admit it will be real tough if a big one goes by at 40 + yards and I have a bow in my hand.

We have 3 different 8's and that 10 in the area on cam and none have fallen yet!

Is this your first, if so you might want to re-think the above statement.
