43- Official Team Chaos Thread

Hey Captain,
I am really glad to see you back in here. I read this earlier, but finally have a little time to post. I can relate to the teaching/parent thing and it being the wife. My wife teaches with me. When I read your post, I can totally relate, Dee had a parent last year that just didnt have a clue, enabledher daughter in every way then blamed everything and any shortcoming on the staff and education system. Good for you for being the good Hubby and Dad. That's more important than any whitetail deer hunt.
Hopefully things will mellow out for your wife and you will be able to get back in the woods for some hunting. As far as your season goes, you've passed on many bucks, hunted an old monarch and trust me coming from someone that does the same, I understand how hard it is to single out a buck and kill him. It doesnt get any tougher on pressured/wise whitetails. You have hunted hard this year, very hard. I think we all learn lessons from every season. The old bucks will always challenge us to do the little things right, without compromise, well for me anyway, thats how its always been.
I hope you get a crack at one before the seasons in OHIO and MICH are over.. there still is a lot of time left.
Gary, one last thing. The toughest time imo to kill a specific deer is right now, during the rut. Get back on him ( if you have access to his Decemeber core area) and you have a good chance, don't you think in Dec? I absolutley love the post rut for hunting a specific deer.. I have one buck that I know I will need snow first to get a crack at him.
Good luck man!

ok, to all my team 43 mates!
Good luck guys, it aint over till the fat lady screams! I am hunting/filming all weekend. Here in NI its just starting to warm up. Mature bucks are now seeking.. a few does have started estrus and the party is about to start.
I have a chit load of work to do tomorrow. (NO SCHOOL) setting up double stands on doe travel routes.. I will either be hanging stands or making ground blinds Dee and can hunt and film from.
Peace-out!

It's awefull quiet in here. I hope that is because everyone is busy filling buck tags. I am taking a break during gun season around here. Cannot hunt with a bow during IL gun season, not even on a gun tag. Go figure![&:]
And I am not sitting in a tree in our subdivision with an orange vest on. Might draw the wrong kind of attention.
Good luck everybody!!

Cool pics John,
It is very non-Chaos like around here, so I figured I would post something even though it is probably
boring and uneventful.
Hunted all day Saturday on 3 different stands, saw two (2) young deer, but not what I was looking for.
A father and son (about 11) hunted our 2 sure fire stands - clover plot and pipeline and saw over 20 deer,
shot at 4 and hit and killed 3 - one doe, one button buck, and one spike. That boy was so excited (he
got 2 of them). I wasn't up for doe hunting, but still got to help clean.
Dad also got a nice 137 lb. doe
(a ton of fat on that deer). Best of all for my dad, no deer tracking and his shoulder is holding up.
I was hunting the 10 point in the morning, got in my stand about 25 minutes before shooting, but still
think I spooked him (he's hanging out in this area in the morning) or another big deer getting on
stand (very loud crashing). Yet another lesson - next time will be on stand even earlier. Then hunted
another buck stand for about 2 hours (nothing), then went back in the woods to a very small clearing with
a load of sign. Found a good tree and got my climber in place (new spot), settled in early 2:30 and
a slow mist/drizzle began to fall. Everything was PERFECT. I had that feeling, but the hunting Gods are
still mad at me for the last blown opportunity they gave me, and they only sent a little doe my way.
All in all, a good day, took 4 deer off the place (got some meat even though I didn't kill), and got to hang
out with my dad and brother.
I'll be back at it for Thurs. p.m., and probably Fri. and Sat. Got tons of work to try to wrap up for the
short week so it will be light posting here.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone - count your blessings and hopefully partake of God's great
bounty by taking some nice deer.

Hey Guys, just checking in. I hunted Friday, Sat, Sunday, had lots of action in the snow and rain. Bucks moving. Saw 6 total this weekend,5 in bow range and open shots, just nothing I wanted to shoot. 1 forky, worked my mock scrape for a good 5 minutes....20 yards.. one short tined hvy 5x5 worked the same scrape for about 1 min.. 20 yards broadside.. three bucks a 4x4, spike and bigger 4x4 (3.5 yr old) all came right by me following a hot doe. The biggest 4x4 was locked onto her. He was a solid 125 inch buck. Saw one more little buck , but couldnt make him out in the fog really well.
I've moved to all my doe family group travel routes and am seeing bucks daily. The weather was horrible.. snow, rain, high winds..fog.. bucks still moving! I couldnt film or take any photos. Just nasty out, I was forzen last night had a good 1/4 of snow caked on me but I held tight all day till dark.. Sooner or later a big buck should come by. I am hunting 4 different doe family groups.. with 2 ground blinds and 4 stands sites.

Good luck Troy,
We want to see some footage of some panhandle hunting!
Hopefully it will be more action packed than the "On the River With Germ" segments.

BTW Germ, Meechigan and Carr are asses for not waiting until the end of the season. They have
put The Hat (TM) and LSU in a bad spot. Did you see him get all choked up in that interview?
Some say that Carr doesn't like Miles and did it on purpose. Miles is truly old school and I think
he might just surprise you guys by sticking with his team. First things first - gotta win out!
