I'm fired up. 20 years bow hunting. Seen some monsters and some years multiple times out but never had a shot at them. See a ton of nice bucks where I hunt but I try to pass them up until late and/or I know I'm running out of days to be in the woods.
Buckslayer, where do you hunt? I have access to property up in the WVU panhandle. I saw some awesome bucks though in Charleston, right next to the airport 2 weeks ago. They weren't wider then about 18 inches or so but very high racks. They were in upper 130's. Just got me excited to see the pair mid afternoon if you know what I mean.
MdBuckhunter, where do you hunt? I spend most of my time in Montgomery and Howard county. Been hunting there for a lot of years. I live in NC and do have some nice property, but my neighbor's boy started hunting last year and I want him to take one of the bucks running in my neighborhood. Also the chiggers down here are the pits until late October. I have to be desparate to hunt before that in NC.
Last place I have access to and I'm might try the trip is Illinois. I've been invited out there several times. If I went, it would be a short trip but because I don't know exactly where or anything about the place, I think I would chaulk it up to a boondoggle trip rather then hunting but you never know.
Good luck and let's win this thing. I'd like to be the first to repeat.

Fieldmouse,
I hunt primarily in Wisconsin (Sauk County) for 10 peak rut days a year. We have some monsters running our land and I am hoping to bag one this year. We do QDM so the antlers must be outside of the bucks ears. (which usually isn't a problem)
I am also thinking about hunting second season in Maryland. Maybe the Fort Meade area with Davepjr (Team #19). It's hard to transfer gear from one place to another and money to do so usually becomes an issue. I'll also have to see how work goes. First season archery is usually equal to second season of Construction and that means I am super busy.

I'm here, I'm here!! We just finisheda reallybig project today so my free time will be in a much more abundant fashion. I've picked up a couple of new places and now I'll finally have time to go check them out. I hunt primarily in Oklahoma and Texas... but in September my two best friends and I are going Elk hunting in Wyoming and I can't wait for that either...
