Zubba, nice animals.

I just bought a Moultrie I40 (first trail cam for me) I have not put it out yet as I am going to build a metal box for safekeeping while it is in the woods.

Haven't been able to get out yet this week and am not sure how tomorrow is looking but I have my fingers crossed.
Looks like the temps around here are starting to climb again.

I will be out Saturday regardless.

here is a question for all of you. When do you start actively using calls and decoys? I know that deer always talk to each other with vocals but what type of calls if any do you use this early in the year and what type of decoy if any. I posted this exact questions on the main bowhunting forum page here and got no response so maybe you guys and girl can help me out

Last time I was in the stand I pulled out my True Talker and did a fawn bleat. Within about 20 seconds a fawn came trotting threw the cattails into the shelter-belt I have my stand hung in and out into the field. It was very cool to interact with a deer, regardless of the size.

Yeah, I would agree....either a fawn bleat or doe bleat. I typically don't use any calls myself this early. In about 2-3 weeks, I will start light rattling sequences, but usually nothing this early.

I've been out 2 times...0-2 so far. Haven't seen squat. I'm going again Saturday morning. If this heat doesn't let up I'm going to buy some Hunter Specialties SPF 30 sunscreen.[:@]
