Don't pay no mind to bloodcreek , the only way he's gonna see a big rack is if he carves it in stone. [8D]

Hey fellow team mates , once you checked in we have to come up with a team captain and a team name , so if you have any suggestions let's see them.

Planter 08-11-2007 08:20 AM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

Sup guys.. I am chomping at the bit to get in the woods for real. Lots of stands set and trees prepped. I don't know how they picked the teams but it sure looks like they are stacked in our favour.
Do we have a secret handshake yet??

Double Creek 08-11-2007 08:41 AM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

I guess I will represent the southern redneck portion of our team :D

Hunting 500 acres of family land here in MS and have 2 trips to IL planned.

Should be a pretty good season.

I think RD, or either of the Creek boys would make good capatains. Because they are Addictees (or almost) and they have the most experience with the contest. Just a suggestion!

Edit: Guess bloodcreek just came in here to poke at RD, so he cant be captain:D My vote goes to RD!

Illinoisbow 08-11-2007 12:00 PM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

RD gets my vote for team captain. As far as team name i'll have to think about it a little longer.

Planter 08-11-2007 12:47 PM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

I'm on board for RD as well. It sounds like his credentials are pretty good.
I can't promise a 150 class deer or even a deer at all but I have no intentions of popping the first thing with horns that walks by but just remember it's a personal thing and any deer is a trophy.
I know ALL of you wear belts or harnesses while hunting (from a tree) but keep in mind that you gotta be safe while setting those stands up as well.
Rock On...

Double Creek 08-11-2007 01:12 PM

RD gets my vote too...

Here was my submission for last year's contest, unfortunately noone else connected :(

Wow very nice deer Double Creek, looks like he weighed quite a bit as well! Heres my one and only buck from 2005. Sorry pic is so small

RDHunter 08-11-2007 02:42 PM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

I appreciate the votes guys , I was a captain last year so I don't mind doing it again but if somebody else really really wants that title I won't be the one to deny them the so called glory.
doublecreek I remember that bucklast year andI thought to myself WOW that is a nice buck and the fact you used the longbow / recurve was even better , hope you get another one like itthis year.
I hope the others check in soon so we can pick a name and a logo before the other teams take all the good catchy names.
I'll be thinking of some names and come up with a list so we can vote on them , I gotta sign off and go to a 3D shoot out so I'll get back with you all.

RDHunter 08-12-2007 07:34 AM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

Here's the list again , I added a few more that were mentioned in some of your replys .

All right team mates , heres a list of team namesfrom last year ...

1 . Rack Rangers11 . Pope and Young Possie 21. Deermenators 31. DropTine Bombers
2 . Team Duce12 . MEGA BUCKS22 . Mud , Bloood and Tears 32 . Silent but Deadly
3 . Kickers - Stickers 13 . Lung Busters 23 . Antler Mafia 33 . Full Draw
4 . Deeranged 14 . MidWeast TorphyStalkers 24 . Hardwood Hunters34 . Heavey Horned
5 . Tree Huggers 15 . Death from Above25 . Big Buck Busters 35 . Nockdown
6 . Six on the Side 16 . Underdogs26 . Bone Collecters 36 . Bro's before Doe's
7. Dead Balls 17 . Autumn Assassins27 . Antler Anarchists37 . Reapers of the Harvest
8 . Big Buck Assassins 18 . Predators28 .BackStraps by BroadHeads 38 . BroadHead Brothers
9 . Unleased19 .Stax of Rax29 . Antler Addicts39 . Droptine 39
10 . 10 Point20 . Team XX 30 . Double Lung 40 . Size Matters
41 . Tall Tines

Now it's obvious that we can't use 17 Autumn Assassins since they'er the returning champs but theres nothing in the rules stating we can't use the names form last year.
However I did manage to come up with a few more to ponder and they are ....
Rack'em and Stack'em , The BackStrap Gang , The Buck Reapers or Rack Reapers, The Rackmenators , Big Rack Brothers , The Broadhead Boys , The No - Doe Gang ,Mega - Racks , Generation Hunters , Young- N - OldBuck Hunters and Inthe Hunt.
Look over the list , think them over and if you have a few to mention , by all means please post them after all we are a team and this is a fun contest.
So all of us should try to be involved asmuch as possable and above everything else we as a team should show to the rest of the other teams that we have alot of team spirit.

Good luck to all ,may God Bless us this season and allways thoughout our lives
Moved this so that all of us can look at it again , let's all come to an agreement

Hi Folks I'm Mike and hail from Mass. I hunt in Mass and Ct. and Maine. I have been on teams three years in a row now and we havn't done much. I hope this year will be a banner year I got the biggest deer of my life last year, which was no easy task as I'm old enough to be most of you guys grandpa. I have been bow hunting since 1981 which is 26 years now (time flys). We don't start bowhunting around here till Oct. 15 so I got some time yet. OK I just wante to check in. Now lets kick some a$$

Hi Mike
Nice to have someone my age , I guess between the two of uswe gotta teach these young puppys a thing or two.

Planter 08-12-2007 11:34 AM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

Started with a Ben person Recurve back in 74. No bucks with that bow but a couple of does. "Upgraded" in about 79? To a Darton SL50 I think it was.50% letoff and was a tank. Cutting edge though.
Now shooting a Vortex set at 52 lbs and an Excalibur Crossbow for which I have a permit. When its warmer out I shoot the compound and when it cools down I shoot the Xbow.Gotta say I like the crossbow after a couple of surgeries but there always will be an art associated with good bow shooting.
Not sure how old all of you guys are but I bet I got underwear as old as most of you. I startedSO SO long ago that we used two part skunk cover scent. It was like handling anthrax.

Well since whereon the subject of age , our team has so far an 14 , 15 , 17 , and a 33 year old .

Hey RD..... How do you like "Team Sparky" for aofficial name?

Brings back memories of the 3D smackdown doesn't it...... Your arrows sparking when they hit all those rocks :D

Planter 08-12-2007 11:48 AM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

48 years old and keepin my boyish good looks. The 15 year old boy thinks I'm a clown and my daughter 13 thinks I'm from the stone age. Not sure if I should say what the wife think but the last time she walked by the computor shesaid something about my on-line "boyfriends" and the lawn being covered with targets of all sorts.
I asked my wife if she wanted to go hunting. She said she was "game". wink wink.

The boy's idea of hunting involves a computor but I have high hopes for my daughter and her Browning Micro adrenaline. Looking forward to her company.

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

When you take your daughter along on one of your hunting trips you could have rattle and gunt for you in a ground blind while your up in your treestand.
I help one of my friends that way about two years ago , a nice big nine pointer came inwhile I was rattling and gunting in a ground blind.
It was a really good hunt for both of us , he got the nine pointer and I was to help him call it in and then drag it out.

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

I think it would be cool if we came up with a name that had to do with our ages, if you old foagies are comfortable with that:D. But seriously, since we have some youngins (such as myself) and other people of all ages, I think that something about that in our name would be cool. Any ideas?

RDHunter 08-12-2007 01:55 PM

RE: 35-Official Team 35 Thread!

Maybe something in the line of ( Young Punks and Old Foagies ) or ( Generation Hunters ) or how about something from the Star Wars sega ( Masters and Jedi's ) :D
