What kind of truck are you going to get MN>?

Kind of some crappy news fellas, I just got back from trying to put my trail cam out in my best spot. It is off of a thick creek bottom, its a small woodlot of about 5 or 6 acres just off a known bedding area.Its kind of bowl shaped woods. As most of you know we've had alot of rain lately but and the creeks and streams are back in there banks, Except for my bowl shaped area, its full of probably about4 feet of water and there is no way for it to drain back into the creek it pretty much has to be soaked up by the ground. I went to try to get to where my stand was and the water came over the top of my hip waders. Guess I better start concentrating on another area.

I hate to hear about your huntin area FF Did it flood out your cam or was you able to retrieve I went and changed my batteries out yesterday and check the cam got a few little bucks but still no big bow but only had 12 pics batteries went did in 3 days but I got tthem from work cheap everrreadys what can you expect 29 days till opening day here can't wait and like you said FF my wife is sick and tired of hearing about hunting she can't wait tell it is comletely over so she will get a little break from the hunting stuff maybe a month break because I will be getting fired up thinking about them long beard then hope everyone has a great weekend

Well i scouted this new area today... Here is a rough layout.... A quarter mile by quarter mile square of field.North of the road About 100 yards by a quarter mile on each side is corn. In the middle is alfalfa. There is a watering hole by the road. There are two fingers of treese running north to south. The corn is on the east and the west side. All of the field is private. What surrounds the field is forest service land which i can hunt. All of it being woods. Moslty Hard woods. Maple basswodd and some oaks along with few conifers. The conifers being balsam fir. Around this field is a path, and when i say path i mean a dirt path. A trail has some vegetation on it. Ok so i am walking this path and every 100 feet or less is trails and paths coming out of the woods. There is poop everywhere. Corn stalks are laying on the ground. I am looking at old scrapes that i know are going to be re-used. A total of 40 paths and probably 10 trails. 2 permanent deers stands. There are 5 different corners on the north side you can hunt. Corners being the corners of the corn field and one other corner......
OH MY WOW... this place is going to be crazy for deer. I put out 2 cameras and i am excited to see what is on them.

oh and i forgot to say that there was also a lot of bear poop and as i was walking around this field i noticed about a dozen or so geese out in the field. Lovin every minute of it

mn sounds like you have found yourself a pretty sweet spot. Curious to see what you get on your cams.
