RE: 23-Official Team 23 Thread
Congrats on the doe Bass!! I've had company in town that's been keeping me out of the mountains. We got our first snow on Saturday and I've been scraping frost every morning since; Global Warming my ass! This is the earliest I've ever seen snow here and that's coming off a particularly harsh winter last year.

Congrats Bass...i remember my first bow kill. It was a double..a small 4 pointer came by shot him and then 2 does walked by while i was giving him some time and i shot one of them. Both double lung shots. Neither ran more than 20 yds.

Well I hope others are doing better than I am 3 days in the woods and I have yet to see a deer. Public land [:@]and the weather sure is not helping.Worst part is a co-worker sending text messages about what he is seeing. Private land :Dnext to a farm. Going to PA next weekend hope it cools off.

It's been pretty slow here in MN. Although I did see a nice 8 pointer on Wed. night chasing some Does and Fawns, and my son saw a ten pointer on Sat. morning, he was chasing a pair of Does. So it won't be long. I am on vacatoin after this Tues. So I'll be out for 9 straight days, so hopefully things will pick up.
Congrats on your first Bow kill Bass. Good luck everyone. |

Wouldn't you know that this is the one weekend I have to hunt hard during Oct. and I come down sick on Friday night?![X(][:@] Instead of going on a two day pack in hunt I went out behind the house in some thick timber for Sat. afternoon and hitched a flight up north of here in my housemates bush plane to hike around for a couple hours in the clear cuts on Sunday. I think the only 4 legged critters we saw on the ground were 2 red squirrels. We couldn't find the elk herd we went looking for but we did scope out some goats on the way home. Man, the snow is piling up already up in the mountains! At least I'm getting this cold out of the way now and I'll be 100% when bow season for deer and goats arrives Nov. 1!!!!!!

I've been out a few times, but the weather's been so hot nothing is moving around. I can't wait for fall... um, winter? Hell, anything but this summer weather! Rob, I'd kill for some snow! Good luck this weekend everyone, muzzleloader starts in MD this weekend I believe, maybe it'll shake some stuff loose.

Man, I hope you guys have been quiet because you're out hitting the woods. Bear season opened Monday and I'm itching to get out but I've got a non-hunting girlfriend showing up tonight for the next 10 days. I'm not going to be able to get out until after the 30th[&:] Maybe I'll make up for it by taking the first week of November off and trying for a Kodiak Road System Slam; Brown Bear, Mountain Goat and Blacktail all in one week! Ahhh.... just the thought of it gets me pumped up!
Where the Hell are you guys?! What's going on? |
