lol Justin thats funny stuff....funny what you can come up with when you lurk in the shadows!!

im still around dont you guys worry. busy day friday splitting wood..sat and sunday i worked and relaxed..but im around and doin good.

Jeff...from the readings of your post it sounds like i hunt alot like you. small little woodlots..only mine arent overflowing with deer:eek: but you did give me inspiration for next year. i know of 2 townships that theres alot of houses and farmland..but not much woods. i know it dont get hunted hard and if i can beat on enough doors i can get a few spots. just didnt know i was getting the bow this year so i didnt have time to do the leg work..so i stuck to the HARD hunted little woodlots that i can hunt.

back to school for class tonight and 2 tomarrow then back home...to get ready for gun season..err i mean Thanksgiving break. Yep..read that right..gun season. :( really didnt WANT to be gun hunting this year..thats why i bought the bow..but didnt pan out as of yet. back to "windy ridge" where i shot the buck...climb higher on the ridge so i can see more since i can shoot farther. contimplating taking the bow opening morning...but i have a feeling if i see deer its gunna be at mach 2..if i stop them they are alert..no bow shot..i dont know...thinking of a way to get the Mauser AND the Reflex in the tree at the same time...hmm...if i see em they will be in bow range or just out of bowrange. but the tree i got picked is thicket then my bow tree..but i think ill see more because i can see a bit farther and see both sides of the hill. we will see.....hate the thought of drilling one with the gun that i coulda shot with the bow..but that what it comes down to if i wanna get me a deer. these little woodlots are hit rediculously hard. bowhunting pressured deer would be next to impossible. i know you guys hate the fact that ill be gun hunting monday...but i will be....i just rather not sit there with a bow and freeze and waste time..there are no unalert, unpressured deer around here with a guy sittin under every tree...

hey guys heres that buck that i shot earlierand got away. that poor buck has been shot 3 maybe 4 times now. i ended up just grazing him on his sternum. the neighbor that shot him hit him low with a shot gun and it went through his leg on the other side. he made it about a mile and thats where they found him. still alive. my dad finally made the final shot and that was it. i'm glad he got away because he was a lot smaller than the one i ended up getting. he was an 8 pointer about 150# and his left side was smaller than his right.

another guy that we let hunt in a little 5 acre woods we own shot a 200# 8 pointer. don't have the pics of him yet but i will get them sometime soon. my dad saw a picture of it and said it wasn't quite as big a the one i shot but defiantly older. i know i jumped him out of that woods one day but he was 1/8th a mile away before i saw him. i'll keep you guys posted on wat we get over thanksgiving. should be fun.

lets go guys the rutsstill on!!!!!!

Rob:

I passed by THE PLACE on my way to work this morning......7:40. At least 5-6 deer...but I din't see the buck we saw. Lisa calls me at 8:10. She and Mitch were 10 minutes behind me.....and they saw a bunch, too.

These deer KNOW THE DAYS OF THE WEEK.....lol (you were right). You remember the time we went by @ 5:20 and they were already there??Unless there's a steady stream of them (which isn't out of the question.....lol)....they're patterning the PEOPLE!! I'm going in there on Thanksgiing morning. I'm hanging a lock-on at lunch, today.....right behind that building on the side we came in on.

Report to follow......

Jeff

I absolutely believe that, patterning the people is prolly easy for them, actually their ancestors probably had the people pattern and they just keep passing it on. Amazing area to hunt and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to join you. I'm already looking forward to the spring.

For the rest of the team, comon guys, :) Team 22 just pushed us into 4th place, that's unacceptable. ;) I'm looking forward to entering them.

No Sweat! Plenty of time left.

Couple pics for ya guys. Rob I'll get some log home pics as soon as I complete a couple projects I'm in the middle of. They're taking forever to finish right now for obvious reasons.
