Lady Forge,

My lease is actually right between the main park and the Buckhornsection. Sounds like we'll be practically neighbors!

Whois going to be team Captain??

I feel it should be someone who contributes the most to the forums and takes a strong interest in it. That is what makes this site great.

I've enjoyed reading their posts/replies over the years and think each one would make a great team Captain. Too bad it couldn't be all 3 but Rob says only 1. Whilethere is no rush yet it would be nice to get past this step so we can move on to the next.

Tim

Thanks for the compliment and the vote of confidence Tim. I would like to graciously bow out simply because I will not have access to the net for 3+ weeks when it is likely to be importantto the team for our captain to be more involved. ( I'll be in Brown county Illinois tryin to score 150+ points for our team)

I second the motion for either of your two other reccomendations!

Hey team, lets get to know each other.. Ya know, age, where we hunt, years bowhunting, what we shoot, biggest buck, most embarrasing moment while hunting etc?

I'll start,

My name is Bob I've been hunting 37 years and bowhunting for all 37 of em. My first bowkill was at 16: a doe with a Blackhawk Bee recurve, micro-flite fiberglass arrows and Fred Bear razorheads. I Live and hunt in Western Pa and alsoguideand hunt a good bit in West Central Illinois. My biggest Buck was a 152" 12 pt in Illinois back in 00. My best Pa buck scored 129 6/8 in 01.

I've had lots of embarrassing moments in the woods but I think this one tops the list: While doe hunting in Northern Pa on a very gray dark foggy day with a good layer of wet snow on the ground, I and a hunting buddy spied a doe about 70 yards off. I raised my rifle and fired. She just stood there with ears twitching I shot twice more with the same result. Finally, she'd had enough and took about four or five steps and stopped again (I think to laugh) I shot one more time and down she went. It was then I realized that in her prior spot, she was satnding right smack behind a rotten old sump that blened in just right with her body in the gloom. We checked and sure enough, I had a pretty fair three shot group in that stump!

Lets hear some stories folks!

Looks like we got most of the serious big buck states represented here!

Lets squash those Team XX guys! They've grown a few to many hat sizes since last years contest!
It does look like we have a very goodteam but why stop at squashing TeamXX... Lets squash everyone!! Might as well make hnihistory while we at it with a 1000 plus team score!! Abigfeat but we can do it.

Tim
What time are you going to have your boy untie that buck opening morning Tim? Or are ya just going to pop him with the rope on like last year? Good luck to you and all of your team. Thanks for the team name ideas also, I like that Bone Collectors one.

Well my name is Tim and I love bowhunting. Well enough about me...

Tonight my scoutingpayed off big time.I got a peek at a good buck3 weeks ago. After 3 more scouting trips of cat and mouse with this buck and his couple different bedding areas... I got a good look tonight. Tyler was with me as usual and spotted him coming out of his bedding area as I was setting up the camcorder.

He is a buck we have 3 sets of sheds to. Last spring we didn't find his sheds but the set from the year before went 144 gross with an estimated 18 inside spread. We figure he is 6.5 years old and in his prime. Should be pushing160 from the looks of it. Whether it's more or less hardly matters as he is a great buck for our area.

He is in a tough area to hunt and will be quite a challenge. All the makings of a great hunt.

Here are a few pictures off the camcorder. Not great quality but does give you some idea how nice he is.
