The Hedge Row hunt went well. I took a light gorilla hangon stand and hung 2 strap on steps and3 lightweight Lone Wolf climbing sticks and was setup in no time. I had 15 Doe's come in the field and one small buck and one large bodied buck whom was pushing Doe's around the light was beginning to fade so I couldnt make out his rack but his body was much larger in comparison to the Doe's he was pressureing across the field......... I had Doe's all over me but none under 50 yards from me...Only wish I had had 10 more min of light and I think I would of connected on one of the 2 does that were 50 yards from me feeding towards me....... Gonna Try it again today.

Went out Saturday Afternoon and was in my tree about 30 minutes when my buddy called on the radio. He had two does down and needed help. Kinda shot my hunt but I was very happy for him. his job hasn't let him get outmuch this season and he was getting worried about his venison supply. I have more than enough in the freezer and have been working on getting him a doe or two all week so this was a very good hunt for both of us.

No sign of the big boy since last week though. I've got 4 more days to get him because I promised my two sons we'd go to our camp in Northwestern PA to for the last weekend. They'll have the flintlocks and I'll take the bow but the big boy is close to home here so he's safe after Thursday. The freezer is full and I've had a good season. I know you all have too!

Well hate to say, but no bow buck for me. Tyler saw a real pig in his spot the last hunt but headed the other way. We both set up in tree patches the last hunt as the wind was blowinghard and was suppose to blow hard all night. It died a hour before sunsetand the deer boogied for the open fields. Tyler wasn't happy as the wind was forcing the deer down to him towards the trees up until it died. Another so called perfect plan that failed!! [:@]

Saturday night, I gave the one buck another shot and seen a fawn. I had Tyler sitting at the other end and everything came out on the west side of the property we were hunting. We were on the east were they normally traveling. [&:] The whole year has been like this of Cat and mouse. The mouse definitely won !! Ineed to find a new bag of tricks as my old tricks failed. It was a very interesting year though. I learned quite a bitmore about that area I was hunting. I know who I am going after next year. We'll see if he can beat me 2 years in a row.

Had a young 7 pointer 3 yards from my tree this morning and we pushed a pretty good buck past my buddy's dad in the afternoon but he came past at about mach 5.

Couldnt make it out this morning, overdid it a bit yesterday, but I'll get out for a few hours this afternoon. Four days left!

Well my season has come to an end...... Cant wait till next season

A interesting thing ... A friend called me the other day and we talked..... he emailed me a pic of a deer in a field near where I shot my buck this year.... he took the pic last hunting season, and a pic of one of his sheds ne found..... he was wondering if it was the buck I killed?????????

Looks like it could be. That double brow tine looks kind of similar. Wouldnt it be great, though, if thats another one and he's still out there?

Didnt get out today but tomorrow morning is my last crack at the big boy then it's off to camp with my sons for the weekend.

Deb, I agree, it looks pretty similar, there's deffinately a possibility. If you're able to compare the shed up close with the rack, then it should be evident if it is the same deer.

BTW, is anyone heading to the ATA show next weekend? I'm heading down with my wife, next Friday morning. A couple friends have been going for the past 2-3 year, and said we had to go this year! They always have a blast, and it sounds like a lot of fun. We're looking forward to it!!!

I will be arriveing at the ATA Show on Wednesday..... I will be having a bit of a hair cut done at the show.... they are going to cut off 15 inches of my hair as part of a fund raiser...... the hair is then donated to Locks of Love and they make hair pieces at a reduced price or free for kids that are suffering from hair loss do to certain diseases or hair loss from Chemo..... others will be takeing the big leap and haveing their heads shaved.
Gonna be lots of goodies to play with at the show.... like being a kid in the Candy Shop..... youll love it Joey.
