ok guys i have two things troubling me that i need help on!![:@][:'(]

1. the first one is.... I am starting to shoot strickly broadheads to get used to it and to site in my bow... but for some $$$$ing reason it is going in a spiral type of flight!!!![:@][:@][:@][:@]it has done this for the past 30 or so shots... it misses sometimes by less than an inch and other times it miss' by more than six inches... i am starting to get really frustrated and have almost lost it a couple of times.....

2. The second is today i was talking with a person i work with and he tells me that he owns about 200 acres of land in a area that is intensive harvest... not bad i know.... the next thing he tells me is that they shot about 6 bucks out there and all over 12 points and with more bucks to kill......... he thens tells me that i can go out there and hunt anytime of the year that i want to...... but the one thing that is bad is there is a 28... yes i said 28 pointer out there.... fourteen on each side... they call him frieght train.... he is massive..... over 20 people have shot at this deer and no one has hit it... they seen this monster last week..... it is about 144 miles away from my hous... i want to hunt it but i don't want to kill this deer because it is on his property and his buck... please don't just yell out a answer think about it first..... WHAT IS ETHICAL???

mallard king - good attitude partner, welcome to the team. We have a strong team and a good chance to come out on top.

- as far as underdog - ask him to try it with and without adding the buck head to the character, more options the better, I figure.

- re broadheads: not sure that I have enough info, but I've been on the frustration route too. The simple answer is that it sounds like your broadheads are wind planning ( the control surfaces of the feather/vanes are unable to overcome the aerodynamic steering of the blades of the broadhead) - what head/fletching are you using and have you used itsuccessfully before (last year?)?Have you spin-testedyour broadheads?- spin your arrow on a support and see if the tip of thebroadhead is stable - if it scribes a small circle, then you'll need to correct that.Itmight be better to pose the question with all the details to the technical forum - you'd get some experts opinions there.

- re ethics query: (I specialize in teaching hunter responsibility/ethics on our MD Hunter Safety Class Team): one simple filter is to put yourself in the guy's shoes and ask how would you like it if the roles were reversed? To be honest, the "over 20 people have shot at..." raises a BS flag to me. I am not sure what "intensive harvest" and hunt "anytime of the year" means - sure doesn't sound legal. Simply put, do not allow any deer or anyone else for that matter, to putyou insituation where there is a question of legality...

the thing is he is a reliable source and his family hunts with him (brothers, sisters, wife, sons, daughters, nephews, nieces....)

intensive harvest means that there are too many deer, so you can aquire more doe tags than usual. in a year if i wated to i could shoot 5 deer total 1 being a buck...

hunting anytime of the year means during deer season

Ok on the source for the big buck info, and thanks for the explanation. If the guy invites you, and says go for him, then git 'r done and be happy to have such a friend... As a landowner, I'd much prefer that my guest put a tag one of the big bucks hanging around, rather than never get to hear about it because some poacher did his dirty deed...

Re the broadhead spiraling. If you have not heard of Slick Tricks, you should check out the testimonials in the active post: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1658749&mpage=1&key==. Many of my friends/acquaintenances have switched to them - they are not a substitute for not tuning up your bow and spin testing your broadheads, but it is an excellent head and may (?)resolve your spiraling problem.

Uphunter89 reports that he cannot help us with the avatar due to size restrictions imposed by HNI.

I talked to my (twin) brother today (a computer geek), and he said he'll take a crack at fixing up the avatar(we can vote later on if there is no clear winner). Here is a rough sketch of what I gave him to work towards:

If it doesn't make sense to add the names (unreadable), he'll take them off...
